Ness-engine is a scene-oriented, efficient and flexible 2D rendering engine. It is written in c++ with a clean oop design, and provide rich functionality for rapid game development, while remaining simple and straightforward.
In this screenshot we see two scenes - there is the world of the living with the green grass and trees, and the undead world below. the undead scene is masked with a skull texture, and merged onto the normal scene. both scenes are animated, can move around, and have z-ordering. you can move the skull to see different parts of the world below.
