Installation files for XWA and XvT. Now includes Balance of Power support.
Changes:
In a nutshell, ships behave like they do on-screen in the original trilogy. Lots of games and books have come out since then that have tailored ships to suit them but ignored their on-screen depiction. This is most egregious with the Y-Wing, which Industrial Light & Magic always intended to be another fighter like the X-Wing. I've used interviews with special effects team members and their reference chart used to create the Battle of Endor to inform my changes. As a nod to the general perception of each craft and to differentiate them from the broad strokes painted by this chart, I've given each of the OT fighters unique qualities.
The Y-Wing, X-Wing and TIE Fighter are all 100MGLT as per the chart. The X-Wing is unchanged and acts as the baseline. The Y-Wing has heavier shields and payload, but is slightly less agile and has slightly reduced acceleration, deceleration, pitch and roll rate. It maintains the ion weapons as this is not shown or contradicted on screen. The TIE Fighter has correspondingly higher agility etc.
A-Wing, B-Wing, YT-1300 and TIE Interceptor stats are all matched to the chart, with corresponding changes to the above values. I have tried to keep them competitive and useful in their respective roles. The YT-2400 in XWA has been slightly downgraded to ~80MGLT. The Z-95 handles very slightly worse than the X-Wing with a 100MGLT top speed and accelerates around the same rate. The TIE Bomber handles and accelerates/decelerates slightly worse than the TIE Fighter and has a top speed of 80MGLT. The TIE Bomber is the only craft shown used in a bombing role and was not included in any dogfights on-screen. It originally handled better than the baseline TIE fighter which I felt inappropriate, but the changes I've made have been minor. I may increase its top speed in future.
Installation:
X-Wing Alliance:
Back up shipslist.txt and xwingalliance.exe and replace them in the main directory with the included files. This is not currently compatible with the XWAUP and will overwrite widescreen hacks. Simply reapply to this exe any widescreen changes you have made previously.
XvT:
Back up Z_XVT_.EXE and replace it in the main directory with the included file. Replace the Z_XVT_.EXE file in the BalanceOfPower folder with the one included in the subdirectory of the zip file.
