A widescreen patch that increases the FOV for The Settlers II - 10th Anniversary.
With it you will be able to see more on the field. (NOTE: Multiplayer will not work with this Fix)
The wider the screen, the less surface you could see.
With this fix, you can zoom out more the wider the Aspect ratio of the monitor is.
It supports 3:2, 16:10, 16:9, 21:9, 32:9, and every other Aspect ratio.
Widescreen Fix was made by zocker-160, and the source code is available on Github.
The patch is complemented with new fog files, generated with the game map editor, that removes the white fog when the camera is zoomed out more.
It has all been packed into a single installation file, which automatically detects the game location, and copies all necessary files into the /bin and /data/settings folders.
Original fog files are moved into a backup folder.
Works with:
The Settlers II - 10th Anniversary (2006)
The Settlers II - 10th Anniversary - Vikings AddOn (2007)
Whats new in version 1.9:
- fix wrong INI encoder (cursor couldn't be disabled)
- add Vulkan hardware compatibility detection
- INI file backup
- fixed clean up in the uninstaller
What's new in version 1.8:
- The FPS Limiter was ignored in v1.7 - fixed
- Updated game version validation in the installer
What's new in version 1.7:
- Gold Version now supported
- Updated zoom elevation levels as they are already in The Settlers - Rise of Cultures
- Updated fog densities
- Added anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, and VSync settings
- Added support for Vulkan
- Added uninstaller
- The installer will now not install this fix for an unsupported game version

Ohhh I love it ❤️ Works great - perfect Installer. THX
Great Work !!!
awesome!
perfect addition
installed ok, but made no difference to 5120 x 1920 res 32:9 aspect monitor.
A support for the Gold Edition will come out in future ..
EDIT: Done
Great work!
But is it possible to zoom out even more than with WideView mode? Just a few camera levels more... Really miss FOV from original Settlers 2 =( I can make a perfect FOV for me with FreedomOfMovement console command, but it's imposible to play when it is active =(
Try to move the camera up on a hill. The camera then will stay higher. For now this would be the best option.
When the mod is installed, the game closes immediately when the exe is started. Is the mod supposed to be installed in the Anniversary main folder or somewhere special? Do you have a idea, where the problem might be? Whe the mod is removed, the game starts without a problem.
Try to change the value of "ForceNativeDX = off" to "on" in the file
/bin/d3d9.ini in the game folder.
The problem could be that you are using a computer that is too old.
...
I will take note of this, in the next update I guess.
That edit helped, thanks a lot. And thaks for this mod in general, needed that.
Close after start with (0xc0000142). ForceNativeDX = on, Win11, RazerBlade2019 (not so old). With Widescreen V1.2 it runs great.
No Multiplayer? V1.2 Supports Multiplayer i think. What is the last Version with Multiplayer support ?
I'm not sure if there was ever a Widescreen Fix version that supported multiplayer. There were always problems with it.
You can find the older versions on Github.
Did Widescreen Fix 1.9 work at all? We don't get too much feedback. If you had sent me a direct message, I would have replied sooner.
Good job!
I tried install the game by Termux for Android to test the VXDK but the fps in the emulation was very low, 7fps on Vulkan.
Bad coded game!
At least for PC works great!
