Retro Edition, has reduced texture resolutions and poly-counts for improved performance. Save files from other versions of Total Chaos are not compatible. Retro Edition only includes the base game, NG+ is not included.
Total Chaos is a total conversion mod for Doom 2 that runs on the GZDoom source port. The mod is a survival horror set on a remote island known as Fort Oasis. The island was once run by a community of coal miners which one day suddenly disappeared, leaving behind the abandoned concrete jungle to waste away. Something, clearly, has gone very wrong with this place. Upon your arrival at Fort Oasis, you receive a strange radio transmission. Someone wants to he found. Survive in 6 chapters, against over 8 horrifying fiends with a large assortment of weapons.
The cursor stays on screen and isn't moveable in fullscreen. Otherwise, it seems to run just fine. It looks pretty decent, none of the atmosphere is ruined, as far as I can tell.
Update:
From the brief glance I saw of the "vanilla" version, once you get powerful enough RAM, it'd be different enough to constitute a possible replay.
It seems the setting to enable the mouse in the menus is turned off even though it works just fine. Turning this setting on, instead, makes it so the mouse doesn't sit in the middle of the screen outside of menus.
This version certainly gives off a retro feel to it. Feels great.
I'm unsure of what happened but I accidentally turned my stack of vodka into metal pipes, which also fixed the pipe I already had in the process.

As well, enemy range, as well as your own, is very hard to gauge. Sometimes it feels like enemies are hitting me from miles away with melee hits. Would I be correct to ***** both of these issues are due to this being based on the pre-1.0 version that didn't have a lot of the fixes the game got?
So, this is for the older version of GZDoom, right? What about the discontinued android port of GZDoom then? It is unplayable on Android port for reasons.....
no this is for better performance for people with not so fast computers. did u evenr ead the description.
use the delta touch app, silly... oh wait, this comment is a year old... oh well
will the restro version have the all the updates of the normal version? (NG+, SSG, the new upcoming chapters, monsters and more?)
It has the SSG. NG+ not included in this version.
Thanks for answering, Wadaholic.
Will you add the new content on a future update? I ask this because i got a potato machine; at least, i can play the retro versiĆ³n, but it will be totally awesome if you make an update in the future an let us, die Kartoffelmaschinen users, just to get the full extend of the Total Chaos experience.
Thanks in advance for all your effort.
I wish you the best.
Sorry, i didn't logged in. Have a nice day, Wadaholic.
What is SSG?
The retro version isn't picking up on my GZDoom .exe and can't find a valid INI file.
My GZDoom is the latest version (4.3.3). Sorry to bug you for this but I'm hoping to play this with my cheap low-end laptop.
