Found a gamebreaking bug...
In map they22, on the ladder when you return from map they23, there is a trigger that is supposed to spawn new monsters in map they22, instead it acts like trigger_endsection (drops you to main menu every time, you can't proceed...). The same thing happens in map they43 about a minute after the level starts, so this is easily reproducible if you load map they43 and just wait for a bit.
The same thing happens on Linux and Windows, so the bug is platform independent... This does not happen with the original WON PC gamer magazine release of the trilogy.
Thanks for report! Reuploaded.
Any update, yet ?? Such as 1.0.6 that should fix the breaking bug issue in this version like people have addressed and mentioned in these comment ?
What you mean?
This issue was fixed in version 1.0.1.
Hey man can you increase 9mmAR fire rate like this video "https://www.moddb.com/mods/they-hunger/videos"
Can't launch the game on steam OSX. When I launch a new game, I'm returning on my steam menu.
Like Rebellion crossplatform and Prison..
But thanks for your mods, now I can play some mods like visitor or Black Ops ;)
Are you tried run this mods with xash3d fwgs?
I does not have mac or tester with mac.
I just uploaded autobuilds from travis.
Needed test this mods under gdb/lldb on mac then.
It's been a long time but I think I've found the problem. It comes from the client.dylib
I used a old trick from the wanted mod and I created a hide folder in the client folder but i have a few bugs with the weapons but I can play the mod with all the entities. If you have the time to fix that, thank you
But I have no problem with Azure Sheep, Black Ops, Time Troubles, Residual Point/life and Visitors.
by the way thank you for your great work ;)
I'm having the same problem, I tried likesam16's method of moving the client.dylib to the hide folder, it worked exactly once then it continued to crash. He's right though, the problem is with those files probably.
Everytime i play the game, after the intro where it lets you play, my camera spins rapidly and doesn't stop... I tried deleting the config.bsp file, but it didn't work. I run Windows 7. Screw this!
Try turn on/off mouse raw input in settings.
I have this same issue, raw input is enabled in the settings and "mouse filter" is disabled. I was able to alleviate the spinning by reducing mouse sensitivity, but camera still moves on its own and the game is unplayable.
Windows 10, Steam version of Half-Life.
Disabling raw input resolved the issue, but I prefer using raw input. Hopefully the bug will be fixed.
No idea why, but steam version of GoldSource has a stupid checks for valve folder(and other Valve's game folders) in raw input code on engine-side and all the non-commercial mods has this issue with mouse rotating.
Xash3D engine does not have such trouble anyway.
Am I the only one getting crashes whenever those hand enemies are on screen? Sometimes they crash the game instantly, and other times it takes a few seconds so you'll have a chance to kill them quickly before the crash occurs.
Fixed.
Final boss is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too over powered. I had to put god mode on and use nearly every bit of ammo I had on him. Was down to my shotgun. And the boss's helicopter was all black which is not how I remember that bit going. Appeared to be night time. But on my last play through of this, that bit was in day time. Even other video plays of this mod have that bit happening in the day. Was that changed in this version?
I could have sworn there was a bit in the hospital with a female zombie killing babies as well. Only heard that off screen when I was there.

I think you are wrong.
He is not wrong. The "baby eating" scene is infamous.
And yes, the final chopper battle is meant to be fought at night / sunset.
There is no even baby model of any kind in this game, so there are no scenes like that. Except of someone's sick imagination.
You don't see the babies until they're gibbed meat- it's heavily implied that the nurse zombies are eating the babies (who you hear crying). Then there's a piece of meat under a blanket, I think it's the room with the umbrella in episode 3. Yes, there is indeed a scene like this. You don't know what you're talking about.
Besides, you responded to like a 4 year old comment.
Fully agreed! The second boss-fight is ****!
I easily beat this boss when I was 11 years old, did they change something?
I'm a linux user. I can't seem to get this game working properly under Steam. I'll click play, try to start a game, and it just crashes back to steam no errors or anything. The only way I was able to get it working was by opening up a terminal, going into the Half-Life directory, and put in the following command, "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./hl_linux -game Hunger". It gets very tedious and I'd like to get it working properly under steam.
Run steam in terminal and then run They Hunger from steam as usual. That helped me.
There's another workaround. Extract files from pak4.pak, e.g. with this tool Github.com
Then delete pak4.pak. It should run from steam. It looks like some GoldSource error, hopefully not a problem of our hlsdk.
There is no pak4.pak file inside this release.

I tried to run the game, but when I click play, it goes through the regular game cutscene and all that in a small box in the corner, with the pause menu options taking up the left side of the screen. It's not windowed or anything, just whatever part of the screen isn't a part of a menu hitbox is what's used for the game itself, which cuts off most of the game. I tried messing with the resolution, but that just made the menu gigantic and overflowing off the screen and me unable to fix anything from there. I had to go into startup preferences to fix that bit, but that just got me into the same problem with the gameplay in a tiny box. any fixes?
Which OS? Any screenshots?
Windows 10, and I have no idea how to give you screenshots on this website.
Had the same issue as you. Apparently running it in a window instead of fullscreen seems to fix it. It isn't optimal, but it works.
I wish this mod was a single title made by valve
i try to open the game but just shows for a few seconds the menu (without the buttons) and then crahses, any fix?
is this the final version of the mod?
It's patched version.

Where exactly do you extract the files to? It's been a while since I installed a mod. What is the precise folder extension you need to extract it to? Thank you. ^^!
Your Half-Life main game folder (like ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\).
I already finished Chapter 1 from a previous version if the mod any way to switch directly to 2? I can only seem to find 1 and 3
Start the game by typing into console:
map they15

to solve most of issues, copy and rename einar.so to hl.so in dlls
Fullscreen resolutions (non-widescreen) and raw mouse input definitely don't work right while running this in Steam- it's basically unplayable without pretty significant workarounds.
I'm going to guess this isn't a hardware problem, because I've never gotten headaches from other HL mods. Might want to look into it.
Turn off mouse acceleration / "Enhance pointer precision" in your Windows settings.
P. S. Have no problems with fullscreen for Steam. Choose the resolution which can be properly supported by your display, that's all.
I'm not the only one here who mentions the fullscreen problems. This problem doesn't exist in the original trilogy, so it's a product of this version somehow. It has nothing to do with my display.
hi,
this version (https://gamebanana.com/mods/47714)
is it more up to date than this?
