A new version for my Old West style enemy replacement for Doom 2, with new enemies, new phrases ¡And compatible with (almost) All your favorite weapon mods!
After Searching and Playing a lot of good mods for the classic doom games, one of my favorites ended up been "High Noon Drifter" by TerminusEst13, but there is barely any old west maps or addons to play with it.
This is where "The Western Patch" comes in.

This is a monster replacer addon made to create a complete western experience, without compromising the balance of vanilla Doom and the protagonism of the demons. It Replaces the old vanilla zombie men for very talkative western cowboys for a less solitary experience, replaces hit scan enemy attacks with fast bullets, wich leave behind a track of smoke that let you know where the shots are coming from and gives a more natural and less tech based look to some demons.

The westernpatch.pk3 and the extra guncaster and qcdoom patches must be loaded
After the Mod you use (only one, "WesternGuncaster.pk3" and "WesternQCDoom.pk3" can only be loaded with their Respective mods)
Cool, a monster set that works with High Noon Drifter!
Not sure if the QC one is meant for Quake Champions: Doom Edition but I'll assume so. It overwrites the basic Doom enemies so if you check out their Heretic monster pack, it has a monster pack guide in the zip as well.
The pack only works with GZDoom, the Zandronum I use that came with the Zandronum/Doomseeker installer from the official website crashes upon loading both QCDE and this mod with no visible error in the terminal, loading the QC version of this mod by itself on Zandronum says "Script error, "WesternQCDoomV2.0.pk3:mapinfo.txt" line 1: DamageType: Unknown top level keyword"
The mod instantly gives me a fatal error, when playing with QC:DE on Zandronum.
HND is not compatible with zandronum I don't think, only GZdoom and Zdoom.

I was super excited when I saw this when looking for a western-themed monster pack to go with guns and maps. But then I was disappointed to find only three monsters are westernized zombie men, imps, and the hell knight is ok. A few other monsters have new skins but don't really fit western and are still the same old thing and others like pinky, caco, pain, and arch are unchanged.
Would love to see an update with even more western fun like imps wearing cowboy hats, bandanas, and pistols. Put a cowboy hat and sheriff badge on hell knights and barons. Revenants can be bounty hunters just put on a black hat, trench coat, brown pants, and hand cannons. Lost souls with cowboy hats.
