Major Changes
- Campaign CO-OP! Now you can enlist the help of your friends in completing your singleplayer campaign. You will have to unlock new equipment and meet the score requirement, just like in singleplayer, but there are no friendly AI. Simply press the CAREER CO-OP button in the Campaign screen to get started.
- Permadeath! You now have the option to create a Permadeath campaign, with two different options:
- AI permadeath, where your fallen AI SWAT officers won't return
- Player Permadeath, where your campaign is ended once you die.
- Note that you can't play a permadeath campaign in Campaign CO-OP.
- Equipment Overhaul!
- There is a glut of new weapons and equipment from the SAS Mod, including the ARWEN 37 Grenade Launcher, P226 and Browning Hi-Power pistols, and the M870 Shotgun (including a less lethal version).
- There are two new rifle ammo types: Armor-Piercing and Jacketed Soft Point, and three new shotgun ammo types: 0 buck, 1 buck, and 4 buck.
- You can now unlock two weapons per mission, but some un-SWAT-like weapons, including the AKM, the Uzi, and the new M16 Assault Rifle are now Multiplayer-only weapons.
- All Missions! You now have a new career path: All Missions. This will allow you to play custom missions with your AI controlled officers in a campaign with no progression or unlocks. Note that you can't play an All Missions campaign in Campaign CO-OP.
- Breaching Changes!
- The breaching commands have been separated into C2 AND... and SHOTGUN AND... to allow you to specify which style of breaching you would like.
- Any shotgun has a chance to break a lock on a door. The Breaching Shotgun always breaches in one shot, and the chance is determined by the material of the door, and the ammo you pack.
- Broken doors can be closed and wedged, but not re-locked.
- C2 can break alarm traps on doors (but not bomb traps)
- AI Changes!
- SWAT officers can take cover by crouching behind low objects and leaning around corners to engage suspects.
- On some maps, suspects and civilians can wander around randomly instead of taking preset patrols.
- Restored a lot of cut speech from suspects and SWAT officers.
- DOA Conversions!
- Civilians who start out incapacitated may turn into a DOA after 10-15 minutes.
- Reporting incapacitated civilians to TOC will stop the timer.
- "No Civilians Injured" was changed into "All Civilians Unharmed" and awards up to 10 points for no civilians being hurt and no civilians converting into DOAs.
- By rescuing the wounded quickly, you are awarded more points.

this makes the SWAT 4 game unplayable and always get the message
"The procedure entry point MMT_GetAdvertData could not be
located in the dynamic link library m4d.dll"
glitch or bug??? what i did was merge the content and system files of the SEF addon's into the SWAT 4 original files. did i do something wrong???
yes.... You don't have to merge the SEF files into the SWAT 4 original files. Take a look at this tutorial: Moddb.com
Jose, i'm using the 4.0 Version but I cannot use the JOIN GAME function, what am I doing wrong? It just ceases up like it always does when searching for a server..
Awesome work mate! Though could it be a bug that the "old" Nova Less-Than-Lethal shotgun can not be used as a secondary weapon? I seem to recall that this was possible in 4.1 but it does not show up in 5 in the secondary weapon slot. Also has the "extra ammo pouch" been removed as I do not seem to be able to stack up on pistol ammo clips anymore? (Though it might be that the update breaks save games as I only tired it loading my current career from 4.1).
Apart from that everything seems to work great so far (and your work actually prompted me to install and play Swat 4 again after quite a long time).
Not a bug. It was replaced by another LTL shotgun, the M870 LTL shotgun, which is more compact, and as such, more fitting to be carried as a secondary weapon. The ammo pouch was removed in favor of an ammo selector.
This version may have some kind of a issue with hosting dedicated servers. If the server has Content/Textures/gui_tex.eng_utx and ContentExpansion/Textures/GUI_tex2.eng_utx files installed in the base game, clients won't be able to join because of a gui_tex file mismatch. One solution is to delete those files on the server side.
The proper way to fix this is to go to the Swat4x.ini file in to SEf folder, find the Language line and make sure it is Language=int. The same should be done with the Swat4xDedicadedServer.ini file
There is a bug with the ai when they try to use the breaching shotgun, don't know if you are aware of it, they fire two shots and miss the door then they try to open the door, and fail, then they do it all again. It's a funny glitch tough! :D
Also the ai somethimes miss the lesslethal guns, like the stinger if you give the order and they try to do it far away from civilians.

Yeah, that bug has been reported (a lot, you aren't the only one that suffers it). We'll probably release a patch to fix that, and maybe some other things.
As for the AI missing shots with LTL weapons, that was base game behavior. They try to fire again until they hit the target. In the case of the taser, they'll fire, reload then fire again, until the target is hit.
I love your mod, but is there any way to incorporate the speech recognition improvement voice mod which has a lot more commands, such as secure all evidence or cuff all, which makes it more realistic in my opinion? The grammar portion is all I'd like to see updated, but if I copy and paste the speech recognition improvement command grammar system xml file into the SEF system folder, it makes no difference in commands that I can use. Is there some other file that I also have to change to get it to work? Thanks for any info, and keep up the great work. :)

Great news, and thanks so much for continuing to improve upon your mod. The speech recognition mod that I mentioned above has made the game so much more enjoyable, and if you're able to add the majority of those commands to your mod plus being able to check under all the doors at once and get the squad to repeat their optiwand report, it would be awesome. REPEAT OPTIWAND RESULT is a command that I would very much like to add to the game. ;)
Not sure where I should ask this, but since this great SEF mod section appears to be active I figured I might as well do so here. Does anyone know how to simply change the static health player outline in the lower left corner of the screen from bright white to some other dull color instead, as it's creating image retention on my TV.
I know I can disable the entire hub through the developer's console command, but I'd much rather leave things as is other than the color of the outline. Any help would be appreciated since I can't figure out which file to edit. Thank you. :)
Hi, that's a good question, you can change the texture using the editor, however this is not exactly easy to do.
Thanks eezstreet. I simply ended up getting rid of the damage indicator by going into GuiBase in the system folder, and changing StyleNames=sty_damageindicator to StyleNames=sty_damageindicator-nodamageindicator
I know I could've just added a - to remove the indicator but this way I can find the edit quickly if I want to change it back again. I tried editing the damage indicator outline color in the SwatGui config but it was still white when I loaded up the game, so that's why I removed it completely. At least for now I won't get image retention. :)
Dear Author / Dev, how can I find out which version of SWAT EF I have currently installed exactly? :(
I'm not the Dev, but in the SEF System folder, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see a version file. Open it with notepad and it will tell you which one it is. :)

Even though I really like all the extra voice commands in the Speech Recognition Improvement mod, I've gone back to playing your SEF mod because it simply feels and plays better overall. The thing I forgot to mention previously is that I can't get your Toc command to work by voice though if I want to report a hostage or suspect. I have to continuously use the "use" button on my mouse to report.
I've tried editing a few different things, including adding an actions command since you've got the TocCommands under Actions instead of Commands in the SpeechCommandGrammar file, but doing that didn't make a difference. Is there something else I'm supposed to say to get your Toc command to work by voice? Thanks. :)
Unfortunately I have not implemented the TOC functionality yet, but I hope to implement it soon.

Hey, Doesn´t work when I put the SEF folder into my SWAT 4 folder.
(First time I install mod)
I only have one folder in SWAT 4 folder called "Content"
And adding the SEF folder doesn't make the mod work. I tried going into the SEF folder when placed in SWAT 4 and click double click on the LaunchSEF.bat but it says there's no file or smth.
I only have the original game from a CD. Do I need to buy the expansion first?

Yes, you need the Stetchkov Syndicate expansion for this SEF mod to work.

If you're using your own voice, check all the commands you can give in the SEF System folder in the SpeechCommandGrammar.XML file. The TOC Report voice commands haven't been implemented yet as noted by the DEV above, so just use the middle mouse button to issue your reports instead.
Otherwise, use the right mouse button to open up the command selector while pointing towards the door you want them to open, and then select the command that you want to issue. You'll get onto it with practice. :)

How come the Qwik Fuel convenience level says I still have 2 more pieces of evidence to collect when I've collected all the suspect's weapons? I cant find any other bits of evidence (eg. drugs) so am I missing something or is this a bug?
I've had this happen in a few levels and wondering the same thing, but then realized I had missed picking up a suspects 2nd weapon as they'll occasionally drop a revolver as well which can be very easy to miss sometimes.
In the SRI mod there's a voice command to get your squad to search for all the weapons/evidence, and that's a nice feature as they'll go back throughout the level and find what you may have missed. Unfortunately that command can't simply be transferred into this SEF mod, but the DEV of this mod has mentioned he might be adding more voice command features in an update and hopefully that might be one of them. :)
Have you played that particular Qwik Fuel level a few times to see if it happens every time or just the once?
There are drug evindences that can be in the level, either carried by suspects or somewhere in the level. Try checking the bathrooms.

Hi, make sure you have selected SWAT 4 + TSS in the campaign path box, not Extra Missions (which is default).
