Description
After a few crashlandings this is finally now the version I wanted to release all along. It is now an addon and only Battlefront II is required to run this.
Thank you for your interest for the latest release of STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT III LEGACY, a total conversion mod for Battlefront II (2005). This version comes only with Battlefront 3's Coruscant, the Clone Wars era,
three gamemodes and a lot of updated and new content from the previous beta versions.
This is indeed not the first release of the pre-demo, but the one which is the most complete as it was planned for a longer time. Having at least three gamemodes to choose from allows anyone to play this game. More information
regarding gameplay, match-rules and things to be aware of can be found below. We have been working very hard to deliver a release which is A. complete B. stablelized for most players and C. a good point to refresh many things.
This release is now an Addon, which means that the original Battlefront II from 2005 is required to play this Mod. Also in order to properly display the HUD and to get the mod running, two additional "mods" are required:
REQUIRED: Unoffical patch 1.3 to get the mod working (Installer for this patch has been included inside GameData)
VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED: [GT]Anakin's HD Remaster Mod to display the HUD correctly Moddb.com
Future content such as map reworks, new maps and the GCW era are planned to be released within the coming months. New heroes for both eras will also be added with each bigger update.

==INSTALLATION==
(1) Open Star Wars Battlefront III Legacy - PREDEMO 1.0.4.rar and extract the folder "GameData" into .../.../Star Wars Battlefront II" --(the path must lead to the main game's folder).
(2) In case you didn't make sure the Unofficial Patch 1.3 is installed. The Installation has been included in this download (both release 129, and 130).
(3) In case you didn't, it is very recommended to install [GT]Anakin's HD Remaster Mod. It is required to fix the double-appearing HUD bug. Downloadlink: Moddb.com
(4) Everything is done. Launch Battlefront II and select BF3: Coruscant in Instant Action.
==MULTIPLAYER==
In order to play Multiplayer I reincluded the original game's .exe which allows you to use BattleSPY. BattleSPY let's you play the game as it used to be before GameSpy shut down. If you launch your game by using this .exe (I included both the US and EU version) you can just start and play online without any third party programs such as GameRanger, Tunngle, Steam or GoG.When the .exe asks you for permission to access through the Firewall, just press OK. It only appears once.
==FAQ==
Q: I installed the mod as described, but when I select the map in Instant Action, no game mode or era is selectab-f5bf.4nwlvm weripcq,6dc bnA: UnOfficial Patch 1.3 is not installed. It is a required patch for this game to get the mod working in the first place. Also make sure you read the installation guide carefully.
Q: The game is running very slow/low on FPS, what shall I do?A: I recommend lowering the graphical settings. If this does't help, the answer below might be helpful.
Q: The game keeps freezing upon loading/crashes to Desktop ALL the time/Very very often.A: It seems your current hardware doesn't allow running the current map at its highest graphics (or lowest). It is likely than soon there will be alternate releases with reduced graphics (mostly resized textures and visuals)
Q: Help, help, the PC is burning!!A: A Windows98/XP is very unlikely to run anything I provided. It is recommended to call 911 while leaving the building as soon as possible.
==IMPROVING GRAPHICS==
If you want to increase the graphics of this game, I personally recommend two mods/addons (These are the ones you also see in screenshots and trailers):
(1) SleepKillers ShaderPatch: Gametoast.com (It improves and fixes many of the game's materials/shaders).
(2) SweetFX with the given SweetFX_settings.txt in this download: Sfx.thelazy.net (You don't necessarily need to use mine. It's all about personal taste, I guess).
NOTE: The above listed are just my own personal favourites to enhance the games graphic's for basically every map/mod. There are many more, more advanced graphic mods which increase the overall quality of this game by miles.Specially for original content by Pandemic.

okay great so its not just me i installed the patches in order too so i have 0 clue why this would crash got a clean game install too
Yeah. It based on your pc specs as well though. My crappy laptop (The one I use for older games) can't run the fancy textures which causes it to crash. He plans on releasing a new version with scaled down textures fairly soon though.
yeah my specs are way above anything recommended for this mod so im good on that front so hopefully a hotfix gets released or something
It's not because of you guys, its the official 1.2 patch you are forced to download from steam. Thats what causes this mod to crash, if you have the GoG version of the game or the original disk set you can skip the update and play this mod without issues. Hence why the steam version does not work atm

Ah ok. I would say that my computer would still be able to run it. But I have the steam patch so...
no I have the disc and installed the patches and the game crashes on all modes for this demo right away on the loading bar and my PC exceeds battlefront 2's requirements
Mine exceeds the requirements as well. I’m able to use all rezzed maps and sides. It’s definitely the mod then.
I figured out how to get it to work. Download the old version found here: Drive.google.com
Extract the files wherever you would like. Then go into the addon folder and delete the old file named BF3 and replace it with this one. Just launch the battlefront 3 exe and your done.
Edit: Orbital Assault seems to crash after a few minutes.
This isn't very specific do you mean to download the older file, delete its BF3 file and replace it with the most up to date one? If so I have the Steam version and your advice doesn't seem to work.

It's great to see it updated, but... I noticed the double HUD bug persists after I installed the HD hud mod.
Never mind. I added the addon folder from the pre-demo v3 and it's fixed.

Mine freezes and I have a fairly good computer along with the unofficial patch 1.3 and have battlefront III legacy installed in full. Basically, I am wondering if there is something else I need to install to make it work?
Accrossa Like I told DarthSith I commented above with a way to make it work. I can't guarantee it as I am not a dev but this worked for me.

I think you could add a super low version to let everyone play. Me too crashes during loading.

I have a question. I notice that you changed the Sounds of the Weapons (although many stuff haven´t any sounds like Explosions, which i think is because of the state of the mod). So what i wanted to ask, can you make a external Mod that only includes the Sound? I really love to have that, as the Sound in the Vanilla really is weak.
Definitely worth the wait, it looks great with the Graphics Mod but I have yet to try it with the SweetFX tool. I need to learn how to use it first.

I have the Open Beta 4 and it works well (my pc is cheap) if I want to download this that I do do I delete the Open Beta 4 or PRE-DEMO [1.0.4] overwrite it? , In order for PRE-DEMO [1.0.4] to work, should I download PRE-DEMO [UPDATED CURRENTLY - NEW LINK BELOW]? and are these 2 new ones still not working well or do I still play with Open Beta 4?
You don't need to uninstall any of the old releases. The latest release is an addon, instead of a standalone version. 1.0.5 can be installed for any version of the game.

I got it to work on Steam without downloading the older version. All I had to do was follow the instructions as normal but instead of launching through Steam I clicked on the application, "BattlefrontII - SWBFSpy" which is located in the addon folder in Gamedata. I also learned a few things about how to avoid a crash. Try to avoid space combat if you want the most stable experience and, if you do engage in space combat, then make sure not to move excessively when taking off from the hanger. I have actually been able to complete an entire round using these few tips.
Got the game to work with the Anakin's Remastered Mod while using SWBFSpy, which unfortunately, seems to make the mod run worse. I'm not sure if it's a setting or if it's the mod itself.
