Description

A small update adding full names to all options and creating new graphics presets based on the renderer beuing used. But these presets are still in order from top being the lowest and and bottom being the highest presets.

I want to run this mod but it's been a while sense I played SoC with mods. I forgot, is it recommended to install ZRP before this?

Also, is there a weapon mod/add-on that you recommend that works well with this? I want to play with HD weapon textures and possibly better ballistics and this mod is only for the environment, correct?

Also what patch do I need? I read 1.0006 has better widescreen support but only really better for multiplayer support, patches are up to unofficial 1.0008c but 1.0004 is good for "most mods".

I totally forgot how to get SoC running with bug fixes, would like to enter the Zone again with this mod first. Any help would be appreciated.

This mod isn't compatible with ZRP at the moment which is unfortunate.

Right now Shoc Enhanced should work on 1.0004 and above with no issues.

By default the mod uses Original Weapons Enhanced for better looking weapons. Shoc Enhanced is very flexible with other mods so if you find something you like the look of it will most likely work.

ZRP does have a patch to work with Original Weapons Enhanced but there is an issue with a config which I will be looking into once I have finished my work on fixing some level issues.

If you want an enhanced version of Shadow of Chernobyl with ZRP you can get Memories of The Zone and you could also download my Shoc enhanced and you should be able to add the levels I use to Memories of the zone. Although if you use memories of the zone it will be on an older version of the OGSR engine so it will not have screen space reflections and there will be some crashing issues with swapping ammunition types in weapons if the other ammo type isn't there and some other small issues.

Sorry for the late reply but thanks, you told me everything I need to get this running. I was only asking about the weapons because I remember the default weapons were REALLY lacking, but if you're already using an HD weapon mod then that's good enough.
I was only asking about ZRP for the vast bug fixes but I'm pretty sure you added bug fixes, other than that I have no qualms about not using it.

Alright, time to get back into the Zone, ...he, he, he, time to chikki brikki some ***.

You don't need to be sorry it is fine bud! I totally get what you mean about vanilla weapons at times they can be tragic, so I will definitely be changing that when I have time. ZRP is very handy for it's fixes and configurator so I will add that too since it offers good things like a sleeping bag.

I also highly recommend you checkout Stalker LFO mod for clear sky and stalker Anomaly they are both standalone and awesome but quite hardcore.

I hope you enjoy your time back in the zone and tthe many chikki brikki's you will hear there!

okay, problem.

So I copy pasted gamedata to main SoC directory, copy pasted bin_x64 to same directory (so both bin_x64 and bin are in D:/Shadows of Chernobyl), I also went into bin_x64 and created a shortcut to the xrEngine.exe that was in there, added the " -steam" to target, apply/okay. (Do I need to do this even though I don't use Steam?)
Got CTD saying I was missing vcruntime140_app.dll, so i dl'ed vcruntime140_app.dll x32 and x64 versions (because it didn't tell me which one I needed), placed the x32 in my C:/Windows/SysWOW64 and the x64 in system32 folder (don't know why it said x32 goes in SysWOW64 and the x64 in system32 but those were the instructions), also I have windows 10. Ran game again...

...Oh, are we supposed to launch from the default exe shortcut in the main directory, or the shortcut within bin_x64?

...Because if I try to launch from the shortcut in bin_x64 I get CTD and message saying "...cannot proceed because OpenAL32.dll was not found..." but I do see OpenAL32.dll in the "bin" folder (not bin_x64). I don't think Open AL32 goes in the x64 bin but I copy/pasted it in bin_x64 anyway just to see and i get "...unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" error.
Removing the OpenAL32 from the bin_x64 folder and trying to launch from the default exe shortcut in the main directory I get CTD...

That's it, nothing after "stack trace". Also I don't think matters but my game was already patched to 1.0006.
Not sure where to go from here. Man, I was all ready to play with this mod too. BLYAT!
Any ideas what could be the problem?

For a quick and painless work around, go into the user.ltx and look for "snd_device" and if it says "OpenAL" change it to GenericSoftware and it shoould launch then. Or you can download the OpenAl from here it literally takes two seconds and will fix your issues.I am also sorry for taking so long to reply to you. Openal.org

Hello, please help me if someone knows how. My game keeps crashing after I enter tunnel in the Agropom research institute after talking with Mole... it says some inventory fatal error something to do with ak47, do u know what might be the issue or should I copy it?
