Just some tweaks I've been messing with and a lot of start points Important installation instructions!!!! PLEASE READ !!!!
All of the missions will save to the same island state file, so wherever you start you retain your stats.
1. open the zip file
2. Select all of the files in the zip
3. Move them to the "data_win/missions" folder inside the OFDR main game folder. So your installation path should look something like this:
C:/Program Files(x86)/Codemasters/OF Dragon Rising/data_win/missions/SLT Endgame
If the missions folder does not exist, you will need to create it.
**********************************************IMPORTANT****************************************************************************************IMPORTANT****************************************** The following is from the r9 documentation. Use the hotkey version packaged with r9.
The latest version of SLT Endgame also uses the expanded hotkey app from tjdagger. To install it simply move the file "ofpdr-hotkeys.exe" to your main game directory.
You MUST use this version in order to have full hotkey functionallity in the game!!
**********************************************IMPORTANT******************************************
Game modes:The most recent addition to Squad Level Tactics is the option to play the game as a full free roam mission or as a quazi-objective based mission. When you start off at the beginning of the mission you will be prompted to make a selection. Don't worry, you can restart the mission without loosing any of your progress and select whatever mode you like, it only affects the way the game plays out.
The very basics of making a squad:To spawn squad members at the camp, go to the center bunker to spawn members for your fireteam and fireteams for your squad. The bunker with one flag will spawn single fireteam members onlyThe bunker with two flags will spawn fireteams
In objective mode, you will need to rely on your intel report for the bearing and distance of the objectives you are given. To get your first objective and get started, there is a flagpole at the end of one of the tents in each camp. Just move to it and a random objective will be selected. There are 5 different initial objective types that ultimately add up to a couple of hundred possibilities for where you will have to go and what you will have to do. Once you get an objective at the flag, you can view it in your intel report by pressing numpad 8 and selecting intel report. If you're not satisfied that you'd like to persue that objective you can move to the flag again to get another objective. If it is a different type the second time around, the original will still be in the intel report, if it's the same type it will override the one that already exists in the intel report. The primary difference between this mode and freeroam is that only the objective locations will be active. This does not mean you won't run into any resistance as you traverse the island, but it will be much less than it would in freeroam. Although your objective locations will be the only locations you know about, there will also be an active location for each of the generals and the pow's weather you have already revealed their locations or not, so if you stumble on a hot spot while you're on your way to an objective, you've probably discovered the location of another hidden objective.
In freeroam, there are no limitations on the island locations or anything for that matter, it's all on at once, meaning to get almost anywhere you have to be very cautious and make the most of all of the resources available to you. Every location that has not been cleared will be loaded with enemies and all of the defense systems will be active, so don't think you're just going to jump into a helicopter and fly around without being in danger of getting shot down... You must proceed with caution and think about what you're doing!!
In either case, keep in mind at all times that the main point of this mission does not involve you the player charging into the fight. You're the commander and they know it... you will die if you try it and just get frustrated. You have to learn how to move slowly and use your squad to weaken enemy positions before you attempt to move in on them. I've loaded you up with plenty of weapons, it's up to you to use them in a way that will allow you to succeed in this mission.

Call in the extraction helicopter: This is available in the support menu by pressing numpad 11 - Open the support menu by pressing numpad 12 - Once your request is submitted it will be processed by headquarters. To get the helo the following conditions must be present. a. You must be on level ground to within 3 meters at 10 meters out from your position b. You must not have a currently pending reinforcement by helicopter request (they both use the same helo) c. You must beyone 500 meters from the nearest base (your FOP does not apply in this situation)3 - Upon the approval of your request, the extraction helo will prepare for departure. Try to maintain your position during this time.4 - You will receive a message when the heli is on the way and another when it enters your current AO5 - In case the helo has a hard time landing (OFDR ai have difficulty with this from time to time) reopen the support menu. You will see the option to report new coordinates to the support helo. a. select this option... the helo will move closer to you and reattempt a to land. b. You will know the landing is successful because a countdown will start. You and your squad will have one minute to board the craft.6 - After a minutes time or your entire squad is aboard the helicopter, it will take off and proceed to the base it came from.7 - If you would like to keep the helicopter, wait until you are aboard and on your way back to base. Reopen the support menu. You will then be able to tell the support helo to land. a. Upon landing the crew will despawn and the helo is yours to do with what you want. Note: For some unknown reason when you despawn the crew from the helo, the AI will ignore the helicopter. this includes boarding and operating it so it is wise to just ride all the way to base and get a new helo if you want to go somewhere else... Thank CM for this, there's nothing I can do about it.8 - If for some reason you arrive at base and the AI have difficulty landing, open the support menu again and tell them to land, this will make them take off and give it another shot.9 - Once landed the crew will despawn and the helo is yours with the conditions stated above.
Call in reinforcements by helicopter: This is available in the support menu by pressing numpad 11 - Once the support menu is open, press 1 on the numpad2 - Your position will be evaluated and a decision will be made on wether a helicopter can be sent to your location.3 - If the proper conditions are met, a helicopter will be dispatched from the nearest us base camp... it will take several seconds for the helo and reinforcements to prepare for departure, so sit tight.4 - You will be notified when the helicopter is departing from the base camp.5 - If you have to change locations or if the helicopter is having a hard time getting on the ground, reopen the support menu and select "Report new coordinates for LZ" and the helicopter will proceed to your new position. note: from time to time the game does not detect when the helicopter touches down, so if the helo lands and no one gets out, just move and order it to your new coordinates6 - When the helicopter lands, all of the troops aboard(3 echelons) will jump out of the helicopter and attach to your squad, ready for combat. The rest is up.7 - If a support helo is not able to get to your location and you are within 1.3km of any base or FOP then ground reinforcements will automatically be deployed to your location.
Call in ground reinforcements: This is available in the support menu by pressing numpad 11 - When you call in reinforcements you squad will be populated to a maximum of 8 fireteams or 28 soldiers, whichever comes first. It is a good idea to condense your squad first (see condensing your squad below)2 - To request ground reinforcements open the support menu by pressing numpad 1.3 - Select ground reinforcements from the available options. If you already have a pending reinforcement request by air or ground you will be unable to submit another request.4 - Once selected, if you are close enough to a US camp or your FOP your troops will begin to move towards your position. If you are at a camp, they will directly join your squad.5 - No matter where you go the troops will adjust their path until they reach you, so no need to worry about remaining stationary.6 - Once within 100 meters, they will be assigned to your command and you will be able to select them in the native command interface through the map or command rose.
Call in CAS helicopter: This is available in the support menu by pressing numpad 11 - Once you have opened the support menu, select option number 4 by pressing numpad 4.2 - You will audibly hear your character put in a request to headquarters for a CAS helicopter.3 - As long as you have enemy soldiers in sight (IE- Red dots on your map) the helicopter will automatically be alerted to the targets and engage them as it sees fit.4 - The helicopter will stay in your ao and engage targets for up to 5 minutes as long as targets exist.5 - If there are no targets for the helicopter, it will not hang around for as long. In either case you will recieve notification when the helicopter is rtb.6 - If the helo completes its mission or is shot down you will have to wait for up to 10 minutes before you can request the CAS helo again, so use it wisely.7 - Good advice is to wait until you have a lot of targets in your area to call the cas helo. It's also great for bailing you out of a pinch, but be warned, if you call in the helo in close proximity to an active sam or radar site you will put your protection in danger of getting shot down so try to destroy those first if possible.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To use the mortar: Open the mortar menu with numpad 21 - go to the arms depot and open the mortar menu to get ammo by pressing numpad 2.2 - deploy it in the field... you'll have to wait until it gets built before you can use it.3 - keep someone in the mortar emplacement to fire the mortar. You can stay there too.4 - To fire, open the mortar menu again and a target selection menu will open.5 - The targets are categorized and only targets that are in the line of site will appear in the list.6 - You can switch camera to other squad members with the camera menu's and targets that are in their line of site will appear in the list instead.7 - Select the target and the mortar will fire.8 - the first shot will be accurate to 30 meters, but if you select the same target twice, the accuracy increases to 10 meters on the second shot.9 - You can also use any one of your fireteam members or any one of your sqaud fireteam leaders to establish line of site with a target. To do this you must first switch to their cameraview.(See switching to fireteam cameras and switching to echelon leader cameras below)10 - As of revision 5, you can also use the satellite uplink to call mortars to the camera target location in addition to using line of site.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Increasing the size of your fireteam: Available in the squad management menu by pressing numpad 31 - I've come to find that vehicles are much easier to manage if you man them with members of your own fireteam2 - To facilitate this I've made available the option to recruit up to 7 men into your fireteam (4 by default)3 - to do this just open up the squad management menu by pressing numpad 34 - select the option to change your fireteam size... it will display your current fireteam size also so you know how many you're already set to.5 - this will advance the setting by 1 each time you choose it so you will need to open the menu again and select the option again if you want to change it by more than 1.6 - Once it reaches the max size, it will reset to 1 the next time you choose it.
Dismissing ground reinforcements and callbacks: This is available in the squad management menu by pressing numpad 31 - If you have completed your objective an you still have a squad that is larger than your base squad you will need to send your reinforcements back to the nearest camp.2 - To do this open up the squad management menu by pressing numpad 3.3 - Select dismiss reinforcements (!!do not confuse this with dismiss squad!!)4 - All fireteams above your base squad (4 fireteams) will cease to be under your command and begin to move to the nearest base or fop. Once they arrive they will retire and await your calling.
Recalling your reinforcements: This is available in the squad management menu by pressing numpad 31 - In some cases you may realize you sent your troops back too soon and want them to return to join the fight.2 - to do this open up the squad management menu by pressing numpad 33 - Select recall reinforcements4 - Any reinforcements that were in route to your camp or FOP will turn around and move back to your location, again coming under your command once within 100m
Dismissing your squad: This is available in the squad management menu by pressing numpad 31 - if your squad is broken up and unorganized you can start fresh at any point by opening up the squad management menu and selecting dismiss squad.2 - Do not do this in the middle of a firefight as they don't walk to camp, they don't carry on the fight they don't stop and chat, they just vanish and leave you a clean slate to build a squad again.3 - When you are at a camp that you can save the game from, I highly recommend doing this before you save just to minimize the load on the campaign save. (It's been known to mess up><)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Switching to fireteam cameras: Access the fireteam camera menu by pressing numpad 41 - Open the fireteam cam menu by pressing 4 on your numberpad2 - A list of all of the available fireteam members will appear... You will only have access to the first 4 fireteam members, this includes you.3 - Select the fireteam member cam you wish to view by pressing the corresponding number pad key.4 - You can always switch back to yourself by selecting your camera view again.5 - If you have another camera view open already (eg. another fireteam or a spycam) you can still jump straight to one of your fireteam members or yourself with the fireteam cam menu.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Switching to echelon leader cameras: Access the squad echelon cam menu by pressing numpad 51 - Open the fireteam cam menu by pressing 5 on your numberpad2 - A list of all of the available squad echelons will appear... You will only have access to the first 3 fireteams attached to your squad (meaning aside from your fireteam)3 - Just like the fireteam cam, you can switch to the echelon leaders camera by pressing the corresponding numpad key.4 - Again, you can switch to yourself by pressing numpad 1 from the squad echelon camera menu
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To activate and use the spycams: Access the spycam menu by pressing numpad 61 - go to the spycam/satellite uplink menu by pressing number 6 on the number pad of your keyboard(requires ofdr hotkeys)2 - select roamers or defenders from by pressing the corresponding number key on the number pad of your keyboard3 - The roamers will be present most anywhere in the feild of combat. When you select roamers your camera view will switch to one of their camera views4 - To switch to the next roamer, you must reopen the menu by pressing number 6 and select roamers again. Repeat this to cycle through the camera views of all of the roamers in the game.5 - This process works exactly the same for defenders, but you will only find them when you are near a location that is being occupied by the PLA.6 - Once you have cycled through all of the cameras you will be returned to your first person view.7 - You can return to your view at any time by selecting view yourself in the menu.
To activate and use the satellite uplink: This is available in the spycam menu by pressing numpad 6
*************It's important to note that as of revision 5 the pla can jam your satellite uplink. If you are witin the jamming range (which I'm going to let you figure out!) of a pla radar site, you will not be able to use your satellite uplink. Destroy the radar site to restore this function!!*********************
1 - go to the spycam/satellite uplink menu by pressing number 6 on the number pad of your keyboard(requires ofdr hotkeys)2 - select the satellite uplink... your view will switch to the satellite uplink looking directly at your position.3 - The instructions for moving the camera around and zooming in and out will be visible in the dialogue on your screen4 - You can change the scale of the camera movement by holding in the alt key and pressing f3 or f4. You can also hide the instructions by holding the alt key and pressing f55 - While viewing the battlefield from the uplink, you can open the command rose by pressing q. All of the commands in the command rose are available through the uplink.6 - If you have any available, you can call in airstrikes or mortar strikes from the offboard support menu by pressing the right shift key.7 - To exit the uplink, press 0,1 or 3 on your number pad to return to your first person view.8 - If you have deployed your mortar bunker and have a crew in the bunker, you can call in mortars from your mortar emplacement from within the satellite uplink interface. a. If your uplink target point is within the range of the mortar and you have mortar ammo remaining, you will see a mortar option on numpad 5 b. once the mortar interface has been opened from the uplink interface you will see your ammo count and a fire mortar selection on the coords of the uplink camera c. Once you fire the mortar the menu will return to the uplink interface and you can sit back and watch the destruction.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Using the Forward Outpost(FOP): Access the FOP menu by pressing numpad 71 - To deploy the outpost there are several conditions that must be met. a. You must be within 25 meters of one of the 2 designated types of command vehicles. These are the Amphibious Assault Vehicle(AAV) and the Armored Personnel Carrier(APC/LAV) b. You must deploy on ground that is level within 3 meters for 10 meters around the command vehicle. c. You must have at least 4 squad members including yourself. If ALL of these conditions have been met, deployment of the FOP will begin when you open the FOP menu by pressing 7 on the numpad keys. Select deploy the FOP by pressing 1.2 - Once you have started building the FOP, it will take about a minute to complete construction (If only it was like that in real life!) You will see the different stages of construction as it is built.3 - You will be notified when the FOP is completed and it will then change to a deployed status.6 - To take advantage of the FOP's resources, you must remain within around 1.3km of the FOP, so it is advised that you scout out a good location that will allow you striking capabilities on your target within this range.7 - Once you have deployed the FOP the following options will be available. All of these can be accessed by opening the FOP menu by pressing numpad 7 a. Recruiting fireteam members into your fireteam - You must be at the FOP to do this b. Recruiting echelons into your squad - You must be at the FOP to do this c. Calling ground reinforcements into the AO d. Deploying a desert patrol vehicle(DPV) - You only get one of these per deployment of the FOP - You must be at the FOP to do this8 - The fob is essentially a mobile camp, giving you most of the capabilities of the static camps around the island. When you request ground reinforcements, they will come from the fop if it is the closer than the nearest camp9 - If the Command Vehicle that your FOP is built around is destroyed, the camp will be rendered ineffective. You must either leave the remains of the camp moving at least 1.3km away or deconstruct it before you can deploy another FOP. 10 - You must deconstruct any existing undestroyed FOP before you can deploy another and you will only be allowed one FOP at a time, so position them wisely.10 - To deconstruct the FOP, make sure you have a crew there or you are present. Open the FOP menu and select "Remove the FOP from the game". The FOP will be broken down and packed away. Once it is completed, the command vehicle will be unlocked and you will be able to move it to a new location and redeploy the FOP.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission information and intel report: Access the intel menu by pressing numpad 81 - Once the menu is open you will have options available to check your current progress and check your current objectives/intel.2 - Numpad 1 and 2 will display your current campaign statistics including the status and location of the Generals if you have collected sufficient intel to reveal their locations.3 - Numpad 3 will reveal your progress in regards to the destruction of pla defense assets like sam, radar and mortar sites4 - Numpad 4 displays your intel report. Your intel report gives you valuable information in freeroam mode, but it also displays your objectives while in objective mode. a. While you are at a us base, look for the tent with a single flag at the end of it.... should be around the closed bunker in the middle of camp. b. Move to that flag. You will be given an objective which will be displayed on screen, but more importantly it will be loaded into your intel report as well so you can check it any time during the mission. c. The intel report will reveal the current heading and distance to the objective location. d. There are 5 different objective types that will be displayed in the intel report: 1. Heavy PLA activity, clear the area 2. The location of US Prisoners 3. The location of pla mortar sites 4. The location of pla sam sites 5. The location of pla radar sites e. When getting intel from the "command tent" at camp, if the objective assigned is too far for your liking, or you just don't feel like performing that task, you can move to the flag again to either get a new objective of the same type or another objective. You can have up to 5 intel items on your intel report at once, but only one of each type, so if you are reassigned a new objective of the same type from the tent it will over right the exitsting one of that type. It's important to remember that in objective mode, only the locations listed in your intel report and prisoner/general locations will be active.
If things go wrong...Sometimes things don't exactly go the way I want them to, so I had to put a couple of debug functions in there too. To access them you will have to hold down alt and press F7.A debug menu will be displayed. There are 4 options.1 - displays debugging information2 - set us to invulnerable (for debugging, not cheating!!)3 - reset all support functions (very important)4 - reset all used spawnpoints
At times the support functions like call reinforcements or support heli and most often the extraction helo might mess up for one reason or another. The extraction helo is particularly proned to getting hung up on obstructions when trying to land at base. The helo will flip over and the crew will exit the vehicle creating a problem. For the function to work as it should the helo has to execute a successful landing or otherwise the entities become stuck in the game. If this happens, just open the debug menu and press 3 for reset extraction/reinforcements. This will also reset the ground reinforcements if something goes wrong with them, the support helo and the reinforcement helo. All of the entities will be removed from the game, all timers reset and all variables nullified so you can continue on with the game without things getting all botched up.
As a final note from me, I am purely grateful for all of the assistance and support I've had from the community for SLT, but this will be the final release. While I've achieved full functionality and good stability for SLT, there will be an occasional corruption in the save file and you will have to restart in the helo, but don't worry, you campaign progress is saved! I'm sure there will be people that play this and have ideas and things they want to see in it or things they don't like or just general gripes like "it's too hard" and "I saw someone spawn near me". If you don't like it, don't play it... .better yet, I've included the mssn along with my db. There's an editor and something around 10000 lines of code. Go ahead and make it the way you want, nothing's stopping you. Just keep in mind that I made this mission to my satisfaction and I really don't give a rats ass if you find it insufficient.
Special thanks to:TemplarGFXHaywoodSlapBen SCoheed IVGhost83RomeoTJDaggerMdog77HomerPepsi
and many others that helped and encouraged me to keep on with this. It's been a rewarding journey and definitely a learning experience.
Note:If you have installed the entire package, you should be aware that the active dispersion system is EXPERIENCED. In other words, if you're getting your ass beat you can lower the difficulty of the ai by deleting the "dispersionsystem" folder from your "data_win" directory. If you like it really rough, you can extract the "hardcore dispersion mod.zip" file into the "data_win" folder. Overwrite when prompted.
Have fun!
