Patch for Sins of a Galactic Empire 2.0E, please note this means you require 2.0E in order for this to work. To install please delete the GameInfo folder of your 2.0E install and extract the rar contents to your SoGE folder.
PATCH INSTALLATION
1) Go to your SoGE 2.0E folder and delete the GameInfo folder.
2) Extract the contents of this rar file to your SoGE folder. When prompted to overwrite files, hit yes.
Please note that due to changes brought on by the patch, the mod will take a long time to load on boot, and when loading the first game after booting up. This is not a glitch or bug, but due to TXT files not being converted to BIN for 2.1. Proper checksum is: 506344820
Incomplete Change Log:
-Added two new supercaps, Imperial-class SSD and World Ship
-Major stability increase, fixed several abilities (kudos to psychoak for these!)
-Fixed galaxy map smudge
-Re-skinned and/or remodeled several units, including the majority of Vong units
-New unique trade port for Alliance/NR and Imperials
-HUD overlay is now semi-transparent
-Added new faction picture sets
-Various balance tweaks
-AI improvements
thanks!
Yes! I was wondering why the Worldship wasn't included and now here it is! So stoked! Thanks! I wish all the mods on this site worked as fast as you guys do. Keep up the incredible job!
the missile effect and planet icons are all messed up
The missile effects are fine. Either you have your graphics settings too high or screwed up with the mod's installation/boot. Likewise for the planet icons (assuming you mean they show up as white boxes).
+1 about the graphics settings... my computer's not bad, but running on high for some reason REALLY screws the graphics up... drop it down one, you don't even notice the difference
awesome did you re model the trade ships to vong and cis i dont know why a floating stack of cans would travel through space but otherwise really good job big fan of the mod
Vong lacks trade ships, all other races have their own custom trade ships.
oh and would you mind fixing some population caps like on volcanic and artic planets (i think kessel in your star wars light map is one of them) because they do not have any population development spaces so the credits lost in taxes brings my large empire from 82 creds per sec to sometimes -1 creds per sec were i could have 3 executors by then :P
No, that's intentional. Some planets cost money to maintain, as they're a bunch of backwater planets that have barely anything on them. But, these planets tend to have large amount of resources, which can be quite profitable to sell off. Choose what to colonize; don't go out blindly settling ever speck of space dust you can.
The best way to counter that maintenance cost of some planets is to put a starbase on everything you have and give it both trade upgrades! Can rack up over 200 creds per sec easy ;)
Hello, new to this Mod thing but I have to say im very impressed with the work i see, its changed my gaming experience for sins. however, thats not why im writing. I recently installed SOGE and then the patch shortly after and then ran my entrenchment off of steam trinity. long story short I can play for 10-15 minutes and then the game no longer responds or "stops working" but no mini dump window. Iv tryed everything graphics wise but my computer is more than powerful enough to handle the load. It seems like a great mod, just want to play. please help asap :) ty
Your computer's power is absolutely meaningless, DO NOT dismiss the possibility of graphics being the problem as Sins can only use ONE CPU core.
This being said, try putting your graphics settings to this, and if it works, then you can play around with them (these are the settings I personally use):
Planet/Ship/Structure Detail: Highest
Ship/Structure Extras: High
Ship/Structure Bump: Low
Disable Skyboxes and Bloom (Leave this on for good)
If this doesn't work, try putting the details to "High". In addition, if you are running off of Steam, run the Entrenchment exe directly, do not use Trinity's "selector" thing, this has been known to be problematic.
Ty Lavo, however i just uninstalled everything and reinstalled it all. I have no problem running in Highest, must have just been a bad install >.< ty for your help though :)
just like to ask about the colony frigates... does anyone know how to use the "crew derelict ship" ability? where do you find derelict ships?
It was for a map I made over a year ago but never could truly finish; as it is I've left it in encase anybody wants to make a custom map for SoGE that has a ship graveyard of sorts. Something like say, a battle for the Katana fleet or along those lines.
Hi, I've downloaded your Mod for the Steam SOSE: Trinity edition and I've installed the Mod as it says in the readme.txt, then done the same for the patch and I have the correct checksum, but when I activate the Mod I get a minidump error and the game crashes.
I tried what you suggested earlier about reinstalling, But I get the same error.
Any help to fix the issue would be grate thanks.
Try to enable the mod before starting Entrenchment. For some reason the mod doesn't always want to load when enabled ingame.
You might need to load Sins twice for it to run, due to the volume of files, but it will work. I would also highly suggest running the Entrenchment exe directly, rather than using Trinity's selection process.
Just installed, no other mods:
Every time I start a game, regardless of race or map, it instantly displays the "you lost" screen.
2.1E is a patch, not a full release. If you read the readme on this page (expand the description), you would notice that you must install 2.1E over 2.0E in order for it to work.
Oh don't worry I'm not that stupid. I know its a patch, and the issue worked itself out after the third time I started sins up.
Glad to hear it works! Just mentioned the patch bit earlier as some people have attempted to use 2.1E as a standalone version, with some rather painful results.
Some things don't have textures, just team colors. This applies to the Venator, the research stations, and some other things.
There's two reasons how one can experience this glitch. First, you have attempted to enable SoGE via the ingame mod enabler, which does not work properly due to the sheer size of SoGE. Second, 2.1E is a patch, not a full version and you have not installed 2.1E over 2.0E due to not having it. Thus, due to missing all of the texture files in 2.0E, most units are missing skins.
I had 2.0, but I always use the ingame mod-enabler so that's probably why.
nevermind
Will You add the Eclipse and Soverign?
