Sorry to say, the patch doesn't work at least not on the gog.com version. I set it for 1920x1080 fullscreen, it loads and then quits. In windowed you just get a black screen.

Using an Nvidia GTX 770 if that is any help.

SFC1 is an old game that runs in 16-bit colors.
To run it at windowed mode you need to set the game to run in 16-bit compatibility mode.

Game with patch now has major lag issues, and phasers are invisible possibly due to framerate lag. There is also some severe artifact in the models. The constitution class for example has invisible warp nacelle pylons or transparent pylons when viewed from behind, and the model frame and texture stretches to whatever ship is currently targeted.

Works fine on RTX2070 Driver 527.56, Win10 64-bit 21H2, Starfleet.exe patched GOG version (V1.03), have it set to 1080p (1920x1080) and all graphics seem to be working fine, phasers are visible, no model or texture problems.

Hello, just for the record I managed to get this running at max framerate using this HD patch.

I had to combo it with "dgvoodoo wrapper" to fix the frame rate. Now I'm getting silky smooth 160+ frame rate. While before it was only running at 40

I also had to tweak the "sfc.ini" and turn both Mouse values to "0"

[Mouse]
async=0
hwblit=0

Initally, I got it running with dgvoodoo but the mouse cursor texture was broken with a purple halo around it. Adjusting the mouses config settings fixed this.

So yeah, there you go the game runs flawlessly with really nice frame rates.

If you want to see a ingame FPS counter, you can enable it in the "sfc.ini" Just change the Fps= value to "1".

(You can also enable a nice looking Grid pattern on the 3D display ingame by changing the "Grid=" value to "1". I'm not sure if there is an ingame option for this, I remember this tick from years ago.)

You don't need to adjust dgvoodoo at all, other than if you want to disable the watermark at the bottom right.
