This is part 1 of 2 of the Total FotS: Scramble of the Far East mod beta 8. You need to download part 2 to have the full mod. READ the DESCRIPTION how to install the mod and for any additional info about bug fixes, known bugs and new additions to the mod.
Install:
1. Extract the "beta_8_part_1.7z" and open the extracted folder.
2. Add the 5 pack files (totalf_V2_animations.pack, totalf_V2_main.pack, totalf_V2_models_parts.pack, totalf_V2_submod_sots.pack and totalf_V2_ui.pack) to your Shogun 2 data folder (Usually found by default at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War SHOGUN 2\data).
3. Download part 2 and do the same as step 1 and 2 (look at the install instructions of part 2).
4. Run the game and activate the pack files with mod manager.
5. Enjoy the game!
Changelog:
- Naval units have been added (tier 1 only!)
- A lot of stats have been changed (combat and moral).
- Removed the "homeland supply port". Now homeland units can be recruited from the trading port.
- Some custom battle factions have different muskets (like Spain now has rifled muskets as it was historical).
- Rebel units now have proper units now of the mod.
- Some CAI behaviors have been changed (building wise)
And so much more...
NOT SAVE COMPATIBLE WITH PREVIOUS BETA! YOU NEED TO START A NEW CAMPAIGN!
Known issues:
- Not all land unit selection sounds and such work. This will be fixed in later updates. Graphic glitch could appear still (especially with factions with a lot of texture maps aka UK, France and Russia).
- Can't destroy a town level 1 < building that belongs to another culture (for the moment can't be fixed).

I'm curious, do you plan to add in tier 2 and 3 units? Or, are you going to stick with tier 1?
Depends of time. V2 is a beta prologue and not a full main prologue.

how do i reasearch past the starting 6 technologies ? I'm playing as russia
Modernize. All buildings/techs and such that give you modernization points, gets added to the modernization level in the tech tree.
Incredible mod, without a doubt the best. If i had one complaint, it would be that bow levy units are a little strong, their range and accuracy is gnarly and they can annihilate a castles defenses without ever seeing any of them, lay low high tier gun infantry.
Don't worry, will be lowered down in the next update.

Sadly i can't. The steamworkshop has a limit upload per file (100mb) for shogun 2. Send a message to CA to resolve that issue.
Can not play any battle on campaign. It keep crashing...

The game just froze up in the middle of battle when I was attacking a russia city,so i have to restart computer .
I have tried it twice all the same.
This time i run game under DX9, it works fine now
