Image looks good, is this a demo game or an image?
Post any feedback, suggestions etc on here. I already have a large list of things to fix but requests are welcome too :)
Thanks for trying it
It was super dark, to dark for me to enjoy properly as i spent most my time running against walls to find passageways. (i didnt mess with my video settings, as i wanted to play it as intended)
Combat is ok, weapon swing sprite needs a longer animation as it only shows once every 3 attacks, The ability to pick up lamps, that supply light for short period might make the traversing of the levels a bit easier.
Its a good start, lots of potential!
TKAZA: Thx for playing! Interesting that it felt too dark. I wanted it to feel claustrophobic and the only light cast is from your player and the occasional glowing fungi or campfire. I may look into brightening it slightly. I guess it's always a problem that people can have a vast array of different gamma settings and brightness on their monitors etc.
Not sure about the attack sprite. If you mean the sword swing sprite - well I've never seen it not play every time, no matter how fast the weapon is that you are wielding, so I'm a bit confused on that too!
The lamps idea is interesting, but shouldn't be needed if I get the ambient glow from the player tuned correctly.
Thanks for the feedback :)
its a good game but the big boss(iron guy) came and i enteret the next floor the sounds of him where going on
Hey thanks Flash_Wolf!
Very useful bug you found there. I generally find GameMaker 8.1 sound system a load of rubbish - especially with 3D sounds. I have to manually disable the sound and I must've missed that one. So thanks again.
By the way, he is probably the most powerful (although random stats means he is sometimes better some times than others) in the demo, there will be some really tricky enemies in the full-game! He is only a goblin after all...just a big one :)
hey, looks like a great game, I've not played it yet, how do you feel about Let's Plays of the game?
I'd love anyone to do one! Any publicity I can get for it - even in a demo state - would be great.
The biggest problem with doing a game is the massive amount of time you have to put aside to try and raise awareness of the game. Not easy when you're trying to a full-time job in the day, spend time with family etc and then at midnight you start your other job - working on the indie game! Rinse repeat every day for months/years...
Need more hours - or lots of help promoting it! :)
