Ruffs Cobbled SG Mods 1.2.0.
The release of v1.61 has broken a lot of really good mods. Also, the mod creators haven't been around (well, some of them) to update their mods. I got sick of waiting and so I put together my own SG pack of the mods listed below.
Current Version - v1.2.0 (v1.61 compatible)
Known Issues: Nil
The main aim is that it does not change the game rules. It just makes things easier for the human - especially with SGs in mind. As such, it is just a collection of other mods that improve various screens, create a log file of turns played, watch for various events (future city growth, etc) and stuff like that.
This mod contains ...
HOF autologger - originally from eotinb
Reminder - (also from eotinb) see above (Note: new key fires dialog box - ALT-M)
Dr Elmer Jiggle - Civ4lerts
Clock Mod - reportedly by eotinb too
Requies - Exotic Foreign Advisor
Porges - Attitude Icons
12Monkeys - Modified Special Domestic Advisor
12monkeys - Plot List Enhancement
SupremeOverlord - Enhanced military advisor
TheLopez - Great Person Mod
TheLopes - Specialist Stacker
Sevo - Sevo's Civilopedia
Roamty – Enhance TechWindow
Unit Name (see below for further details)
TheLopez - Random Names for units
sen2000 - Roman Number Unit Namer - just lifted the code
Porges – naming units after cities
Ruff_Hi – Borg Naming Convention
There is also a RuffMod.ini file. This can be used to turn these puppies off and on (al la HOF). Actually, I stole fairly heavily from the HOF mod (thx guys) but did make a few slight 'improvements'. Example: you now have the option of specifying your log file name or letting the pc create one with the name of the game (eg CTIV-5.txt). I also noted that the HOF logger doesn't work if you just type in 'logfilename' with no '.txt'.
Actually - looking at the above list - it is fairly similar to Alerum's Unaltered Game Play.
Please let me know if I haven't referenced the correct author.
One of the biggest issues with combining mod packs is knowing which files have both been modifed by the mods. I use beyond compare to do this. I have always found this a greal program and it is very powerful.
