Is this the easiest for steam users?
No. The auto-installer is probably easiest. Both still require you to make the Steam launch options change (instructions are included with both).
Well, I was practically forced to install this one. Every single time I try to use the Auto Installer I get the same message. "No installation of Star Wars Forces of Corruption was found. Please install the game on your computer to continue." I bought the SWEaW Gold edition through steam. So I definitely do have FoC.

No, the manual does not *require* you to use launch options, as you can manually combine the Data folder with the one in mods and then with your FoC Data folder. Heck, you could even do this with the auto-installer... Way better than having the mod in two different places, that makes no sense...

Not really, for all those having issues, read this, all you do to install this mod for steam is, go to common/empire at war/FOC/mods, if there is no mods folder, make one, then , put the file in, then go to steam, right click properties on empire at war, click set launch options, and type MODPATH=Mods\ And after the slash with no space, type the name of the folder you just put in. simple as that.

the corruption folder is the Foc folder, just make a mods folder in the corruption folder and put any mod folders in there. Then do the rest as stated above.
I think Corruption is the FoC folder.
Corruption is the FoC Folder... the C IS Corruption. Yeah, I don't know why valve called it "Corruption".

Its a good thing i accidentally downloaded this one. I thought i downloaded the auto installer but i clicked this one instead. Why is it for advance users? All you do is extract the file then move the folders to the foc folder.
For some people that is advanced.... Just look at the dude a few posts up
in the auto installer its a file/shortcut which auto install the mod files to directly foc mod folder.in this one you must put the files into the mod folder yourself.
So i have the mod in a folder on my desk top, but when i try to drag it over to the FoC file it starts up normal FoC... What am i doing wrong? (goes to school for quantum phys and can't modify a game...failure)

There was an issue with the original package. This has now been resolved.

Hm..I don't see the Auto-Installer one. I'm sure I can do the advanced set-up but I don't have Linux..
The auto-installer package is pending authorization as we had to re-upload it to resolve a (minor) multiplayer compatibility issue.
This package will still work for you on Windows.

What exactly does this not have when compared to the Auto? Seems to me that when you say minimal that means that not everything is there.
If that is the case, I think it is kinda stupid that those of us that prefer manual installs over auto-installs are forced to have less of a mod.
If that is not the case, you should improve your wording... Also, nobody who has not played this mod will understand what, "BASIC Republic at War v1.1.5 game files (NO AUTO-INSTALLER)" means.
How are people supposed to know the difference between Basic and Full (also mind you, this file says it's the "FULL VERSION"). And also, how is anyone supposed to know what is meant by "Auto-Installer" unless of course that is to tell people that its not an auto installation. But, why would that make it any less full than the full non-basic version of the mod?
Just a little confused as to what exactly is contained in this mod... Yours is one that I have always preferred manual over auto, especially with the pesky AI that doesn't seem to work when placed within the Mods folder (unless you fixed that).
I also firmly believe that there should ALWAYS be a manual and auto installation (both full versions) for things such as this. to not have both I find to be irresponsible...

During a connection through LAN to play GC with my brother, the game crashed and this was what was in the "_except.txt" file. I can run Land/Space Skirmishes but Galactic Conquest is not working. I keep searching for a fix, but to no avail. A fix would be much appreciated. Does nobody have any info on this?
