This mod makes a few adjustments to the properties of walls and siege machines in the game.

This is my second mini-mod in an effort to make more realistic walls and artillery for MTW2. I made one for UAI 1.6 and now that I’ve completed that it’s on to SS 5.1. This doesn’t change much, just updates it for SS 5.1 and Kingdoms. (With the boiling oil now) Also, I’ve tried to make the gates a bit better too. I found that rams could get through iron gates far too fast in SS 5.1, yet it had to be better than the 1% damage a hit I was getting before. (Far too long). So, in effect, wooden gates will fall faster than metal gates. Keep that in mind. For those of you wondering what “realistic walls” means, it means that you will need to bring along more than 2 non-gunpowder siege engines if you really want to get past that stone wall. In fact, more than 4. At last tested, 4 catapults only took down a castle’s wall 70%. You will need more than a few to do a one day siege, or multiple attacks. Once gunpowder comes of age however, you will find stone can no longer stand before you army. (Keep in mind though, huge stone walls are very thick, you may need a good 4 bombard units to even get through that in a good amount of time) Don’t even try with non-gunpowder unless you like a very long siege.
