Will the mod keep receiving updates from now since it's finished? Or are there more changes to come this year?

I think this IS the MOTY state since I am running out of ideas to improved the original games, and I've spent too much time on this mod LOL, I think the only upcoming updates from now on will be bug fix only, but hey, if you got any good ideas, feel free to tell me, maybe I'll be able to make that happen! Cheers!

Well the mod is basically what I envisioned when I tried to make a sort of "Infamous Fusion lite" but got too frustrated with editing hex files.

Only things I'd edit are the dropped weapons being a tad more reliable, I could barely shoot one magazine from a dropped ithaca before it exploded, also I don't know why but for me the enemies seem to only use the vanilla weapon loadouts, started playing and all I see enemies wield are G3s, AKs and Ithacas, despite them supposedly using a wider variety of guns in the mod.

Far Cry 3 ... Well, you are too good with the intention of improving a game thanks to past ideas from other authors and of course, your ideas ... I also walk in them but thought of Far cry 3 and thanks to some old mods of other authors, I have been able to guide me to find the way but the knowledge limits me. And I wonder if you've had that idea at some point.

I really love your mod but I don't like the lack of autoreload. I've been trying to change this but the DLC weapons are giving me a hard time. I tried unpacking the dlc entitylibrary.fcb, editing the xml files produced and repacking but then I also need to delete the vehicle.xml or it crashes. I've now been trying to go at it with HxD and I've found the section of entitylibrary.fcb that controls the DLC weapons but the autoreload section is still symbols and not english. What magic have you done to edit these DLC weapon files!? I really appreciate your mod bringing this game back to life.

Hi, thank you for playing this mod, glad you're enjoying it :)
To edit the DLC content, in fact, no magic needed, a hex editor is what you need, and it's also what I am using, too. To enable the "Auto Reload"
, simply change "B7 BD 41 E9 01 00" to "B7 BD 41 E9 01 01".
Hope this will help :)

Thanks so much! Converting all the hex to words is basically magic to be honest. I'm impressed you're able to figure all that out!

Hi, friend, there are too many graphical changes to list, it will be a nightmare for me to list every single one of them, but I can tell you that most of the changes are in the "defaultrenderconfig.xml". :)

Alright, this is officially the most ambitious mod for Far Cry 2 ever, Infamous Fusion was great but this is something else!

Hope someone reviews it one day, would be great to open up people to this game's underground modding scene.

This game is old, but also gold. :)

New update:
"NewDunia_MOD_v2.0.0-Apocalypse.Max.v3.6.3j.7z" (02/25/2020)

1. All weapon recoil reworked.
(Reason: I found the problematic "ghost code" left from the Infamous mod, which is making the weapon recoil way too high for many mod users, now after the fixing recoils are all very reasonalbe! :)

2. -28% less zoom-in for player's monocular.

Aww snap u you sir are a hero. You just made this game so much better. If only far cry 4 and 5 could have such tough enemy AI like what you did here. For me what’s important more than anything is a competent AI because that’s what’s keeps me from coming back.

To adjust player's speed simply unpack the mod, unpack "entitypatchoverride.fcb", and the "player.xml" is what you looking for.

Hey man, i still have few questions:
- How can i pac or unpack file? what tools are u using ?
- Do i have to start a new game if i install the new update of this mod?
- Can i change the crosshair or iron sight size? i really love a small dot or a small cross-crosshair like cs go and i find difficult to aim down sight when i use 45 star pistol.

1.the mod tool I currently using
Moddb.com

To pack/unpack, drag the xml, fat, fcb to the according .exe

2.no, you don't have to start a new game, but some temporary glitch may occur and will be fine after some playthrough.

3.to change the fov of the iron sight, unpack "entitypatchoverride.fcb", find "weaponproperties.xml", locate "ironsightFOV".

Hope this helps.

I think maybe you set the FOV for the springfield too high/low. Sometimes this happens if the scoping animation is not tweaked correspondingly with the FOV.

To repack it to it original forms, simply drag the entitylibrarypatchoverride.xml to the Gibbed.Dunia.ConvertBinary.exe

To edit the ironsight FOV:
Find
<value hash="FB4ADD00" type="BinHex">(Desired FOV multiplier)</value>
in the
22_WeaponProperties.xml

To edit the camera FOV:
Find
<value name="fFOV" type="Float">(Desired FOV multiplier)</value>
in the
25_cameras.xml

sowp27 - - 71 comments

Awesome, I wouldn't have known that the overall FOV was in another xml

But how would I repack them though? The Dunia Repack tool just turns it into a .dat and .fat file, not an .fcb.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
dannyhl2 Author
dannyhl2 - - 952 comments

To repack the fcb, drag the .xml which contain the .xml list to "Gibbed.Dunia.ConvertBinary.exe"

To repack the .dat and .fat, drag the "patch folder" to
"Gibbed.Dunia.Pack.exe"

Thanks for your help so far. So what I did was edit the xml files in the entitylibrarypatchoverride_converted folder, as well as some values in the list xml in notepad++.

When I repack it into .fcb, the resulting file is only 2 kb, and I don't think it really saved my settings. Plus, it makes me CTD at random. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

My guess is that you are using the old mod tool, so some files in my mod can't be compiled by it.

Here's the mod tool I use:

Be sure to unpack my mod files again(start it over), since the files you're editing right now are from the old mod tool.

Hey, I finally got it to pack right, so thanks for that

Unfortunately though it keeps crashing on me. When I delete the GamerProfile.xml thing it works again, but it deletes my video settings and deactivates my RealAfrica Sweetfx settings. Any way to prevent these crashes without having to reset settings?

Hi, to get rid of that

First unpack the mod, and go to the engine folder, delete the folder that contains the "GamerProfiles.xml" and repack the mod.

Hi. There isn't a "GamerProfiles.xml" in the engines folder when I looked. There's only defaultengineconfig.xml, defaultgameconfig.xml, etc. in the settings folder within engines. Is this it?

Hi. Again thanks for sticking with me lol.

Hi, in which part of the game doest it crash? It might be not from the graphical errors.

Also which graphics mode are you using right now?(DX10/9) also which reshade?(so I can troubleshoot with my laptop)

Any further information are appriciated.

Reply Good karma+1 vote
sowp27
sowp27 - - 71 comments

It crashes a few seconds into the startup loading screen. Deleting my modified patch.dat and .fat lets me play the game, but I have to delete GamerProfile.xml in documents every time, which deletes my settings. Also lately my RealAfrica reshade stopped working. I'm running on dx9 at low-mid settings. Might just reinstall and see if that has any effect. I do appreciate you troubleshooting though.

Also, a reminder

If you are using the "pirate version" or Uplay version of Far Cry 2, please don't use the "dunia.dll" in this mod. It might cause the game to crash.

Other files are totally fine.

Hope this helps. :)

Reply Good karma+1 vote

Hi. So I tried reinstalling, and I tried running with settins/engine in entitylibrarypatchoverride deleted, plus with camera.xml fov turned up to 95. This leads to a CTD, even though GamerProfile.xml in My Games hasn't even been generated yet

I tried running the mod untampered, but the need to delete GamerProfile.xml again and again is still there. I'll try to run the game with just the settings folder deleted, but idk why just changing camera fov would cause crashes.

Mind you I wasn't using the mod's dunia.dll yet
