I saw this posted on the PCGamingWiki and just had a few curiosities.
1. Why does this require installing extra codecs, if it is using the same format as the original?
2. Does this work if I were to set my monitor to a custom 1440x1080 resolution? What about other (non-1080p) resolutions?
3. Did you do anything special to make them not stretch, or does the game too dumb to do any scaling anyway?

Hey man! I just fixed for myself while started replay game (now with Wide Screen patch) and shared for anyone in moddb, in case someone also needed.
Everything i say is refers to keeping Aspect Ratio and Display Scaling in GPU. Not interested in game stretching solutions (probably could force via GPU).

1. Unknown reasons, after trying on new PC, only after installed codecs worked resized videos. Even format and method of rescaling is same: I.imgur.com

2. Should work only on 1080p resolutions:
1920×1080
1440×1080
2560x1080
2160×1080
1728×1080
Possibly can work on higher than 1080p vertical resolutions with result: smaller videos/loading screens. Possibly just black screen.

3. So is why in 1440x1080 - same aspect ratio as original. Game not scaling videos at all just upright plays video what he is (e.g. plays 640x480 video in original size). So basically for any (and every) other vertical resolution than 640x480, need to rescale videos.

Could be other GPU, exe edits, dll inject methods to force game rescale those videos, but for now i just wan't to play game.

Hi, go to inside game folder, then go "..\GameData\indy\".
Open downloaded .rar file and extract "movies" folder to that opened "..\GameData\indy\" game folder and overwrite.

Ok, I'm gonna do this very soon. Yes, black screen, video files and game must be same vertical resolution to work (possible need video codecs if not works). But for now default game 640x480 videos should work on any resolution (just small on screen).
