A moddable version of the "_DIRECTORY_CONTENTS.BML" file in Alien Isolation - this is to be used with the BML to XML converter (expand to view readme).
As default, the game's "_DIRECTORY_CONTENTS.BML" file cannot be modded using the BML to XML converter, however downloading and using this will allow you to produce modified versions of the file.
What can you modify with the "_DIRECTORY_CONTENTS.BML" file? Lots! This file includes all the behaviour trees of the game, generated by a program known as Brainiac Designer. You can read through the XML file and modify the behaviour trees for the Alien, Working Joe, Survivors and Facehuggers and then import the file back into the game to view the effects.
Once you've downloaded this XML file, copy it into your "/DATA/BINARY_BEHAVIOUR/" folder and tweak it however you like using a text editor. Once you've made your changes, run the supplied "AlienBML.exe". This will automatically convert the XML to BML with the correct name so you can instantly test your changes.
Modding the base game's "_DIRECTORY_CONTENTS.BML" will not work. So always work from this XML and convert it out to BML to use in the game.
