Old version with stability issues, this version makes Beta 3 obsolete and creaturepedia is now included again. Install the mod on top of Tribes of the East + Patch 3.1 (sometimes called 3.01). Always uninstall an older version of the mod before installing a new version.
Hotseat & LAN require script activation!
MMH55 is a script extension and H5 does not have scripts activated in multiplayer modes (Hotseat & LAN) by default. Therefore it is required to activate scripts on newly generated RMG maps and also on multiplayer maps downloaded from the internet (which don't have any scripted content) if you want to play those in Hotseat/LAN. You don't need to do this for playing in single player. All H5.5 default maps and included maps have scripts already activated.
How to activate scripts?
System requirements
MMH5.5 has higher system requirements ,you can pretty much consider the H6 requirements as applicable. Otherwise you may suffer from adventure map lag. MMH5.5 uses more detailed landscape textures. Next-gen core-ix processors with high clockspeed on single core really make the AI 'fly' and are highly recommended.
I'm trying to play a LAN game with my brother and we're having problem not being able to "download generated map" or w/e the message would be in English popping upon trying to enter a hosted game. Scripts activated, game data is exactly the same due to being copy/pasted. The only time we manage to launch a LAN game is after hosting it in utility.exe, but then simultanious turns don't work as AI doesn't make its turn (it does, although very slowly, in non-simultanious). Is there any way to play LAN games of HoMM5.5? Scripts ofc activated on every generated map, do launcher settings have to be identical or smth else?
Some players have succeeded, but i don't know more than was already written in the guides.
Hello,first and foremost I would like to thank you for the exceptional work that you have put in this game. It has made so many improvements that it looks like an entirely different game. I did, however, found something strange. In the Sylvan faction, the High Druid is given the Channeling ability. Allowing it to give additional spell power to the hero based on its own, up to a cap. However, in game that ability costs 34 mana, while the unit only has 16. I have been unable to use it. Is it a bug, or was it done by design ?
Intentional because it was overpowered, first they need to be feeded by dryads.
Hello, I just want to report that on fresh install and newest release (RC10 beta4) I faced infamous "flickering cursor" problem on adventure map (wait cursor/horse cursor, wait cursor/horse cursor... sometimes "wait cursor" lasts 10-15sec) causing further gameplay impossible. Map was generated using ARMG, then mapmixer was used with default settings. Map template was 4P-Ultima-I/XLu(PFDS). Tried both MMH55_64.exe and MMH55_Utility64.exe. Is there any way I could help you deliver more information to debug this issue? BTW, I noticed that MMH55_64.exe (and utility version) runs as 32bit app - not sure if that's intentional.
At what day/month did it occur? how much of the map have you explored (visible) - a quarter, half, 3/4 ? How many AIs are you playing against?
Could you provide us with map file and save game?
Hello, thank you for quick reply. Answering your questions: Month 2, week 4. Roughly 10% of map discovered. 3 AI's. Look ahead - second level (default setting). Difficulty level: heroic (3rd level). Additionally in terms of my specs they should not be an issue, HOMM55_64 takes just 1GB of ram on this map still leaving 11GB available for system.
Of course I can provide you map and save file. Should I send PM to you or mmh55 (author)?

I noticed problems:
1) a place where goblins are recruited (on a strategic map), I can recruit dark riders (dark elves), not goblins
2) witch doctor (goblins) has "spell casting" in the description but he has no active ability. Perhaps this incompatibility appears only in the description of the Polish version. I noticed the above when playing on an automatically generated map (XL, 3 players)
witch doctors are supposed to have cleansing, if not then you have a compatibility issue.

When you generate a map (utility.exe or Map editor) select "Impossible" for monster strength.
Hello , I got a problem ,when using RMG new features like f.e contracts with meal or new effects of abilities don't work. I have this same problem ,when creating map with proper 5.5 editor :) I hope U will be amble to help me ,because it's one of these mods that I never will uninstall.

Are the "ultimate" skills from the original still available, as listed in the thread 41320 "Skill System Design" described in the heroescommunity
as "Skills with extra requirements"?
We have leveled up around 4 heroes in several matches, some 37 and above and never once, arcane omniscience was achieved - are the ultimates getting real ultimates meaning available only after the skill tree has been exhausted?

Hello. I've encountered same problem twice. Beetween 3rd and 4th week of the first month game crashed so much, that Windows had to be restarted. Issue affected two seperately generated ARMGs from Belt/5P/H template, when AI had its turn, on HotSeat game (2H3C).

We've been playing RC10 Beta 4 for a few days now, and something weird is going on, something we did not see in Beta3. The AI is not building up its castles, not gathering up free loot, nor is it capturing the mines in its territories.
It has happened on two ARMG maps: 1) an impossible size, six player triangle, and 2) a small size, two player, standard.
We played with the default difficulty settings. I am going back to Beta 3 to see if the problem goes away. I'll keep you posted.
Update: I uninstalled RC10 B4. Then, I downloaded a fresh copy of RC10 Beta 4 and reinstalled it. We just finished playing an ARMG 4P-mini map on the default difficulty settings. The AI performed faultlessly and gave us a most excellent game.
I cannot figure out what went wrong the first time (see above). One clue is that we were playing hotseat allies, and when the AI took its turns, there were no little progress-bars down at the bottom of the screen. Instead, there was a message banner up at the top of the screen that said: "Green player pondering, Yellow player pondering," etc.
pondering message means AI process file is missing from bin folder
When playing campaign as Markal, undead normally joins your forces, however Black Knights do not, it makes mission where you fight Cyrus significantly harder

Hello. I noticed you need the 3.1 patch to install this mod. I was having problems installing the patch though and I can find NO WHERE where it describes my problem. Upon trying to install the patch, I receive a popup saying, "an installation support file could not be installed, catastrophic failure". Anyway I can fix this so that it installs? So I can update it to version 3.1? Perhaps I am using the wrong link and someone could link it to me? I'm not sure. Please help!

Hello guys, and first of all, thanks for your excellent work!
I have been playing hotseat with my brother, and we always got crash in RC10 beta 4 (beta 3 also). RC9 also crashed. The situation is the same, and we tried in 02 computers.
Randomly, at the end of either turn (but must usually player 2's), the game would freeze then crash. We could not play unless we turn on Autosave since we can't know when it is going to happen. But it is a pain in the *** to be honest. My brother was too ****** off (unlucky roll) and usual crashes so he said he's gonna take a break until the crash stopped (sorry, he is still a kid).
But I think you guys could look into the problem and check it? Do I need to provide anything?

Which exe file do you use to play the game? What is the size of the map you are playing? How many AIs are you playing against? What are the specifications of your computer?

We were using the HOMM 5.5 64 exe file to play. We mostly play XL map without Underground. Just 1v1 only.
We played on my laptop with i7 7700HQ - 8GB RAM - GTX 1050Ti 4GB and my PC i5 6500, 16GB RAM and GTX 1060 6GB.
This issue happens when you have not prepared the game for multiplayer. There are a few sanitary things you have to apply before making a LAN game.

Hello when you get this mod, does all of your games from earlier disappear, or will they stay so you can play them again?
They won't disappear but the mod will not work unless you start a new map.
Hello, I was wondering If its possible to auto-generate maps with ARMG to have upgraded witch huts(gives choice), governance of cities etc.? Or is the only solution to create the maps by myself?
This is how ARMG works by default. You need to activate scripts.

Hello,I have a problem... Installed mod and everything.When my game starts only thing that has changed is verson from 3.1 to "3.1j enhanced AI".. but everything in game seems to be same just like normal homm5.Is there anything else i should download or?

Hello, I really like your work. Really makes me enjoy Homm5 like i did when it first came out. However I have a problem: Some objects and abilities like Magic Shrines or Magnetism (Golem Ability) appear in a wrong language (Italian or Spanish maybe), any way to fix it, without reinstalling? It was a pain getting it to work the first time.
Where did you install the game from? Was it installed in English? do you have any other mods installed?
