Explore a randomly generated maze of rooms filled with traps, treasure and magic items. See how deep you can go and STILL GET OUT ALIVE. This game is also available on IndieCity for free, if you'd rather launch it through their client. I'm thinking of expanding this into a commercial game, so let me know what you think of it!
Q: How deep is the dungeon?
A: It is bottomless, but it gets harder until it is impossible. At some point, you must turn around and try to get back out of the dungeon alive
Q: What if I just keep going down until I die?
Then you LOSE. You get nothing. Good day sir. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.
Q: Can I just make a map as I go along to keep track of where the traps are?
A: You could, but it is effectively cheating. Trying to remember where the traps are is a key mechanic of the game, and it was designed to be played without making maps. You are free to play it however you like, but I think the game is much less enjoyable if you make maps.
Q: Why isn't there an online leaderboard?
A: Because it would be dominated by people who made maps (see above). Besides, not all score-based games lend themselves well to leaderboards, and I don't think this one would.
Q: The Disarm Trap scroll is useless.
A: That's not a question.
Q: The Disarm Trap scroll is useless...?
A: No it isn't. Even though you've already triggered the trap, disarming it means that it won't get triggered again on your way back up (see previous questions).
Q: Where are the monsters?
A: It isn't that kind of dungeon. Its a trappy, treasury dungeon. If you want monsters, you'll have to look in some other dungeon.
