Insurgency (INS) is a total conversion mod for Valve Software's Half-Life 2, powered by the Source Engine. INS immerses the player in an intense online combat experience. Set on the modern battlefields, Insurgency simulates infantry combat that encourages the use of teamwork and tactics to close with and destroy the enemy.
Please make sure you completely delete previous versions of Insurgency before installing the new client.
Bugs fixed:
* Fixed: players spawning inside other players (generally AFK) and being killed instantly.
* Fixed: players getting stuck when throwing a grenade when prone on certain locations.
* Shotgun pellet damage has been reduced.
* Shotgun penetration has been fixed.
* Volume slider in music options works properly now and saves the volume settings.
* It is now possible to mute other players - new option available in game menu.
* Fixed: Scoreboard not showing all the players in the server.
* Weapon caches now don't give players extra / infinite grenades that they shouldn't.
* A bug affecting some classes loadouts has been fixed.
* The in-game voice notification panel will now show the correct colors (blue or red depending on the team).
* Fixed an annoying "unconnected has disconnected" message.
* Random sound effects that could be heard while tweaking the options menu have been addressed.
* Fixed a number of known client and server crashes after collecting minidumps from the community.
* The Shader Effects Update patch will no longer be necessary.
* Third person M203 firing sounds are now audible.
Map updates:
* ins_sinjar
- USMC initial spawn area has been redesigned.
- Fixed strange effects on certain trucks.
* ins_samawah_day has been improved.
* ins_karkar:
- Made all physics props static to prevent stuck issues.
- Clipped a few area's for prone players.
- B objective no longer extends to the elevator shaft.
- Added a ladder to the top of conveyor belt in the mine building.
- Fixed an issue with scope zooms.
- Other small tweaks.
* ins_ramadi:
- Changed ambient light color and intensity.
- Added a extra way over the wall for USMC between their spawn and the school building.
- Decreased the size of B objective capture zone by half, cut on the insurgent side.
* ins_buhriz:
- Objective C moved further away.
- Fixed narrow path not letting more than 1 player go through near the initial INS spawn.
- Added extra staircase to Objective Bravo.
- Received minor additional tweaks.
Sound updates:
* USMC voices have been reverted to the previous version (2.0 voices).
* Insurgent voices have been updated.
* Weapon sounds have been improved.
Can you guys do a patch rather than the entire mod each time? It is quite a large hit a 700meg to download for a few new maps, textures, models and coding changes. And just think how much less time it would take to upload the smaller file for you guys?
they made it just look in the main site of insurgency, (they made a patch with ~100Mbs)

I've downloaded and tried to run the install twice now, from two different sources, but it won't even start. My hard drive starts to grind from the moment I click on it and after I've gone away and had a cup of tea the UAC prompt is up. I OK that away and the drive starts grinding again, but when I return from a sit in the garden for a while there's nothing on the screen at all.
Well, I got around that by opening the file in 7zip and extracting everything manually. But now I can't join any servers because "my map differs" - even though I can only see 2.1 RC2 servers in the list!
The menu background is missing too: I just see the purple check pattern. Nothing but problems so far...
This is natural. This is what makes the mod special, its how they get us to play!
I give up on this weeks ago because of the stupid 'map differ's.

Try installing it again, it takes a LONG time for it to open, so do something else while you're waiting
Most people have been able of installing and playing Insurgency 2.1 RC2, so the problem lies probably somewhere else and not in our release :) Depending on your setup, it might take a bit of time to actually open the file and start installing - but generally not more than a minute. If you're experiencing long waiting times (such as 10 minutes or longer) before the installer starts, then it's time to change your computer, it won't be able to run INS properly!
can i play this mod if i have windows vista home premium?

i keep having crahses with this game like when i wana load a game and it goes to retreving info then it waits there forever then crashes happen 2 anybody else

Hey i just downloaded steam and Insurgency 2.2 beta
Ive fully installed it but i can see and actuall file to run it from.
Ive tried the shortcut and everything i cant even get it to show in "MY games" on steam.?? i cant see an .exe file exept from uninstall.exe.

I lost several gigabites of data it really suck
It would be nice if the installer wouldn't take free space from C: if installing in other partition other than C:...

If you dont own any source games. Then you will need to download and install source sdk base 2006 and 2007. You can find it in the steam library-Tools
