Yes you will need CoD 4 to play Hide 'n Seek (Prop Hunt). This is just a mod, not the entire game + the mod.

Hey! Starting a Linux server is done the same way as for any other CoD4 mods. Sadly I don't have Linux to test it, but you can use the exact same parameters just like on Windows.
