Seems like I can't use this mod cause there's no game data folder to overwrite?

i don't even know how to reply on this. if this is your knowledge of modding you should not bother trying to mod your game. it will only infuriate and discourage you.

if there is no gamedata folder you didn't even start the game once or else there would be a gamedata folder with at least your axr options in them. since those are written on startup.

You got me to make an account just to reply to you.

You're being condescending for no reason. I too installed the game, went through the first time setup, and also have no game data folder. If the folder was there, I wouldn't need a mod. I could just go into the effectors and edit the head bob there. But I can't. Because it isn't there.

Why don't you pull your head out of your *** and crawl back under what ever bridge you scurried from under, you miserable person. Stop driving newbies away from the modding scene by being a jerk.

welcome to moddb.

i'm condescending for a reason: the mod archive for "no head bob" gives you everything you need. folders are in right structure. there could not be an easier copy & paste job.

assuming this was to be used on an install of Anomaly i might have been hasty on my statement of the "gamedata" folder being created on start-up. this might not be the case for every xRay project.

"If the folder was there, I wouldn't need a mod. I could just go into the effectors and edit the head bob there. But I can't. Because it isn't there." ... most of the files will still be packed into their *.db archives. i do not fault you for not knowing that since it is clear you as the other guy i originally responded to are not very adept at using the xRay engine yet.

why don't you stop acting like the pinnacle of human decency and start actually informing people about what they are tying to do instead of registering to a website only to spew names and your personal opinion. also judging from the user's profile he was not so interested in the modding scene but more into "shopping" for decent addons.
Stop moralizing when your own perspective is highly duplicitous.

best regards

Jesus christ. As a reverse engineer, I have to deal with dorks like you ALL the time trying to **** on newbies trying to enter the scene. And AS an RE, it is very common for a binary to rely on a config file that is in an uncompressed or otherwise easily accessible format. You are an absolute dweeb doing the job literally no one asked for. Could they have searched around for an answer to the issue? Sure. A snarky link to Google is a perfect response to this. Classic Stack Overflow meme. Full on gatekeeping? Go touch grass for ***** sake mate what could you POSSIBLY have gotten out of that comment?

"why don't you start informing people" you didn't inform him. You purposely withheld additional information needed (database storage) to come to a full conclusion on why an issue was occurring. You did it to punish him for being new and not searching around. You need a new hobby what the **** is wrong with you

ahh, more name calling. well i asked for it. i have to admit that my initial response to a very basic modding question could have been better. yet through all the bashing you guys still fail to help that guy by providing an any more detailed answer to his question. wouldn't it be easier to just do that and vote the the dweebish dork into oblivion?

and yes i didn't fully inform him, had he responded i prolly would have.
how did i punish him btw? because i challenged him to increase his modding knowledge in the 1st place? or because faulty modding will usually break a game beyond the point of enjoyment?

don't get me wrong here. i am an utter shitbag but for different reasons.

best regards

edit: i kinda feel honored tho, to get your first comment
after 5 years of service already. seems like i'm getting better at setting people off.

"seems like i'm getting better at setting people off."

You're a troll, you're too boring to be anything else so you troll unpopular moddb pages and literally return to them weeks later bc you have nothing better to do. Anyways I've broken the cardinal rule of feeding the troll. Bye forever.
