This Standalone release brings a full 1 to 1 recreation of the Union and Confederate Armies during the Civil War, this along side immersive
and realistic gameplay brings the most authentic Civil War experience yet to the gaming market. North & South: The American Civil War Hardcore Submod
is a standalone rebuild of the original ACW mod reconfigured and dedicated to realism and immersion. The modification is geared towards a multifaceted
multiplayer experience with new focus placed on realistic fatigue, movement logistics, and team dynamics. Now, players with the introduction of 4v4 multiplayer
and singleplayer capabilities, will be able to see combined army sizes of 32,000!

Installation

**For those who have version before 2.0 Delete all your acw mod files!**

**For those coming from version 2.0, just follow the instructions like normal!**

Step 1: (Recommended)Have a clean installed of Napoleon Total War

Step 2: (Required if you followed step 1)Run your Napoleon Total War game one time after doing a fresh install in order to get the games files set up,

then once you have booted the vanilla game you may close and continue.

Step 3: Direct your installation to your Napoloen Total War game folder

- Default Location: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Napoleon Total War"

- How to find Location on Steam: going to your steam game, right click on the name of the game,

then hover over the "manage" tab, then click on "browse local files".

- The end result regardless of your personal install location should end with "\Napoleon Total War"

Step 4: When or if you are prompted to overwrite, do so.

- (Should something go wrong with the install process, in order to reinstall you first need to run the uninstaller which is found in the same folder as your launcher .exe)

- (Should you find that your game is crashing upon pressing launch, go to the folder "\Napoleon Total War\data\ACWHC\UI" within your game files. Inside the UI folder rename the file hc_boot.pack -> boot.pack. Now your should be good, however, this has been fixed with the updated download of 1.8 as of 11/29/2020)

Step 5: For any tech support, it is recommended you go to the discord (link available in the launcher) where we will be willing to sit down with you and help.

-Melee overhauled. Higher charge bonuses and more sensitive morale. Micromanage and support your CQB advances well. Do not give the order to charge until close or risk your troops retreating in disarray, fatigue and confusion due to your poor and hasty leadership.

-Artillery overhauled. All guns are relatively reliable and useful at different ranges for a multiplicity of tasks. All guns have different weights and move at different speeds. Rifled and smoothbore have range differences. Guns are best when placed slowly and carefully for surprise but lighter guns may achieve a flying battery effect in a pinch.

-New graphics (uniforms, flags) and other misc. fixes. All prior features present. Known: Fort Wagner still unfixable.
