Description

You guys have waited long but update 2 is finally here! Please note that this has not been tested on a fresh install of Fallout 3 so any feed back on how it is working from you guys would be great :). To install simply copy the "data" folder to your Fallout 3 install location and activate the "Covenant Invasion.esp" file before you play Fallout 3. This is just an update so you still need to download or have the base mod (Halout 3 Pre-Alpha A) installed for it to work. Thank you all and I hope you enjoy the update. On a side note I will be making a big announcement very soon! Some of you may be confused or even mad at first but I'm sure you will be extremely happy once you fully learn whats going on. So get ready for some news in only a few days that will give Halout 3 a whole new name!

What does this update?

Adds UNSC Marine armor to the UNSC and Dragonskin armor to the Rebels. It will also add Covenant weapons to the Covenant. Covenant weapon stats have been modified so Elites are now easier to take down. That being said they are still a tough fight!

I am having a texture issue. they are only showing up with the texture missing signal. any specific way to fix this myself or is it something you will have to work on?

I think I will have to look and see what textures are missing. You could fix it on your end if you download all the mods and files I've used to create the mod but I don't think that is very practical. Can anyone else confirm that the textures are not working?

the only textures missing are the textures for the UNSC soldiers. they are missing their armors and helmets. I REALLLLLY want the helmets and armors. That is the one part of the mod I have been waiting for. It really ties it all together for me. I think this will be an excellent mod, and i commend you for your creativity and moddersmanship.

I followed the steps and I can now see the Marine armor although the textures have messed up and they all look like stone. Also with the USNC commander mod, do I just have to call in BOS troops?

The description advises moving both some of the meshes and some of the textures to \Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data\Meshes\cire992\armor . Both fixed the issues I was having.

I am kind of curious. An Energy Sword doesn't shoot bullets. ._. I've yet to test this out in full, but I'm loving it! XDD If only I could find everything though....

This is not using the energy sword from the halo weapons mod, it is a melee weapon in this mod. Be warned, if you see an Elite with one stand clear because if it gets up close most likely you will die :P.

Ah. So... does this mean I can kill an elite and swipe his sword from him? Though I've encountered no Halo-based bits yet. Just me using FOMM to check out what weapons are available. Loving them. I did notice the Lost Helljumpers part had another Energy sword weapon, but on both entries (ID: xx00a7a8 and xx005136), whenever I try to use them, all I get is a giant triangular red /!\ box. Am I missing something? Might be because I downloaded the Pre-Alpha A.2, then the Halo 3 Update 2 packages. Everything is selected though... I may have to run the patch to be sure. Keep up the great work on possibly one of the most beautiful mods I've ever seen to date! XD

Alright. The 5 minute limit is retarded on modbb I think, but...

EDIT: I fixed it. Just needed to download the A.2 patch. Thank you ever soo much for your work to this! XD I can't wait to see how this mod ends up.

No problem :). And yes got now you can use all the covenants weapons but that might (most likely will) change for the single player campaign. We will be making it so your more limited to what weapons you can use so it feels more like your really fighting for survival and don't feel like your an overpowered superhuman with unlimited ammo :P.

You have a problem I detected. For some reason, the UNSC Marines merely show up as a disembodied head, a backpack of some kind, and a red diamond with a white ! in the middle. ...Missing meshes.

Well now don't I feel like an idiot. Might've helped had I read the instructions a bit more. XD ...I really hope it doesn't. It's already bad enough the Energy sword for example has limited strength. I'd love to see the other weapons that accompany this, like the ODST SMG and etc. XD The codes for the guns are there, just no mesh or textures. The one thing that ****** me off about the Halo series was the lack of use of such weapons. And if OP is your worry, you needn't be.

Believe me, the Plasma Rifle isn't as effective on Brutes as they are on say... Raiders for example. XD And you can forget about the Behemoths. :3

I realize I'm 2 1/2 years late, but I'm still going to try: I have a texture issue. I managed to solve the mesh issue as suggested in the description, and met an entirely new problem: the UNSC Marine armor textures are inconsistent. In my first encounter with them so far, there are three Marines. The textures of each one of them flickers between the intended texture and several other textures; possibly variants, but many are odd abstract flickering textures that seem to result from some other error. I don't know if I need to remove files, add files, delete and reinstall the mod (at least this patch), reinstall the entire game then reinstall the mod, or what. Can anyone help?

Never mind, after way too much screwing around, I finally reread this, and saw the suggestion to move textures to the cire992 folder as well as the meshes. Lol
