Ok so I just finished playing and i have a to say it's an impressive step up from the last mod. it also delivers a creepy vibe that the last mod lacked so i really think ur doing a great job at this mod so far :)
will I have to have just this mod to have it work or can I have others

Just played it. Good so far.
A few comments:
Lighting candles could use a bit more feedback, like a match sound effect or a flash or something. As it stands, it's a little hard to tell when you've turned on a candle.
During the tutorial, some of the audio clips kept cutting out prematurely. I haven't figured out why this might be yet.
Melee range feels a hair short. Even with blocking, I found myself simply restarting the level if I ran out of ammo, as I died too much using melee. Some of this might just be up to me for using a really crappy mouse since my old mouse broke.
Block? Kick? Buy more ammo?
The game was designed for melee combat to require the use of all attack modes and blocking. Lure the enemy into an open area, block its attack, wait for said attack sequence to end, then give it a hard kick to get a little distance in between you and the monster. After that, you can follow up with some probing slices and stabs, and alternating kicks, or use the rapid fire mode on the colt.
yeah, anyways it definitely has more depth than base HL melee

The atmosphere has really been improved on for sure! The large red Demon nasty made me jump off my chair and pause the game. This was thanks to just how dark you made it all, as well as the limited range for the lamp! Excellent stuff. Looking forward to more scares in the future :3

Are you using WON? Delete "Game_menu.tga", "Game_menu_mouseover.tga".
I don't use WON. Delete these files solved the problem!

Nice job! Just to let you know of a few mistakes: You can jump off the map by climbing the dummy and for some reason when I restarted the map the inventory and the shop icon were still there.
