So how is this version different than the original version?
This is a fixed and cleaned and updated version than the original , the details can be found below.
Changelog and bug fixes:
Game directory has been cleaned up. All unnecessary files and folders have been removed , corrected or moved to a more suited place.
Missing nGlide dll files as well as nGlide configuration has been added.
Added exe launchers for OpenGL and Software mode.
When the game is launched map c1a1 won't be loaded on start.
When the game is launched the main menu will display on the screen instead of the console.
When selecting "Single Player" map c1a1 will proberly be loaded instead of a multiplayer map.(However this caused a new bug for the same map to be picked as multiplayer)
Keybinds as well as defaut keybinds have been fixed.
When a new map is loaded the health bar will properly be displayed on screen.
The sounds for the main menus have been replaced.
Npc Shadows have been enabled.
Crashes caused while changing resolution in software mode "error:hunk_alloc failed" fixed.
Crosshair display fixed.

there are 2 glitches I'd like you to fix, pretty please:
1) The save system is broken, saving crashes the game and the save itself is not loadable, claiming it's an out-of-date build version.
2) Certain buffer overflow-type situations will crash the game instantly, such as noclipping through odd terrain or getting large multikills with the grenade launcher in certain areas.
Sadly those bugs can only be fixed by porting the entire game and making it work as another HL mod
changing the maps using a hex editor makes the maps decompilable

lightningterror, out of the comments i haven't seen the same problem i have. when i did a quick scan of the files, it told me that both exe files had a trojan virus, i forgot the name of it but i deleted it, and i want a god damn version of half life alpha that a) isn't broken and b) isn't a ******* virus

The game is super dark and fullbright does not work. How can I change the brightness? Even at 100% it is extremely dark.
I just got a message saying the file contains malware. Is my antivirus software misreading it or something?

i try open "Half-Life GL Launcher.bat" and it ask me which software do i want to open with it, you have to launch "enginegl", half life gl launcher doesn't do anything
oh and you will have to type "map c1a1" in the command, THEN it will start the chapter
The archive/mod has been updated. The exe files that were falsely detected as viruses have been removed.
Seems that exe files converted from a batch file end up being falsely detected.
To launch the game use the included batch file(s) "Half-Life GL Launcher.bat".
Still being detected as a virus even with the update.

Which files ? Can you submit the files online to the AV vendor for them to properly verify ?
specified video mode not available for gl, couldn't find graphics driver for 16 bit, what do i do?
