Alpha Project 0.21, AIX 2.0, GloalStormSF 0.4,GlobalStorm 0.6.5 andSOW 2.5 are the best Mods for BF 2.
I am just a player, but for those having error with 7-zip while unzipping 2.46 (2/2), a possible suggestion might be: restart your computer after installing 1/2, then install 2/2. It worked for me.

Yes, you are supposed to download both parts, then you run the first one and then it will install the game. The reason behind this is the mod itself is too large, and the devs must split it into two part for easier downloads.
