FLATOUT PC DEMO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
After downloading the PC demo file
1. Extract the setup program from any archive if not already done so
2. Please close any other programs you have running
3. Run the setup.exe program to start the installation
4. Follow the on-screen instructions
Remember, that unless you are already running the latest DirectX(R) you need to
install it before running the game. At the time of writing the latest version
is DirectX(R) 9.0c.
DirectX(R) 9.0c installation:
1. Download DirectX(R) 9.0c from Microsoft.com
2. Run the installer. Follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Reboot the machine if requested
GETTING STARTED AFTER INSTALLATION:
1. Start FlatOut PC demo by opening the Start Menu
2. Open Programs, then Empire Interactive and then FlatOut PC demo
3. Click on the FlatOut PC demo selection to start the game
III. GAME OVERVIEW
Developed by Bugbear Entertainment, FlatOut is one of the most spectacular
Racing games you'll ever see! Experience the drive of your life as you throw
yourself around 45 challenging tracks in one of 16 fully upgradeable cars.
The track environment is subject to the all-encompassing physics system that is
unique to FlatOut, and is set to define a new standard in racing games. Fences
will shatter, tyre walls will explode, water tanks and barrels will fly across
the track into other cars. Every time you lose control, you will truly feel the
weight of the car as it collides with and destroys a barn, or smashes into the
pack of cars ahead of you, and with 40 deformable pieces on every car sparks
are guaranteed to fly!
Anything you destroy or alter stays a part of the race, increasing the carnage
to unprecedented levels! Broken fences, free rolling tyres, and even mangled
parts of cars are left scattered around the track, increasing the mayhem with

you battle through a huge variety of races, mini-games and the most outrageous

V. END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
End User License Agreement
1. Limited Use License. Empire Interactive, Inc., hereby grants, and by
utilizing the Program you thereby accept, a limited, nonexclusive license and
right to use one (1) copy of the Program for your use on a personal computer.
2. Ownership. All title, ownership rights and intellectual property rights
in and the to the Program and any and all copies thereof (including but not
limited to any titles, computer code, themes, objects, characters, character
names, stories, text dialog, catch phrases, locations, computers artwork,
animations, sounds, musical, compositions, audiovisual, effects, methods of
operation, moral rights, any related documentation, and “applets” incorporated
into the Program) are owned by Empire. The Program is protected by the
copyright laws of the United States, international copy right treaties and
conventions and other laws. All rights are reserved. The Program may contain
certain licensed materials, and Empire’s licensors may act to protect their
rights in the event of any violation of this Agreement.
3. Responsibilities of the End User.
A. Subject to the Limited Use License as set forth above, you may not, in
the whole or in part, copy, photocopy, reproduce, translate, reverse engineer,
drive source code from, modify, disassemble, decompile, or create derivative
works based on the Program or remove any proprietary notices or labels on the
Program without the prior consent, in writing, of Empire.
B. You are entitled to use the Program for your own use, but you are not
entitled to: sell, grant a security interest in or transfer reproductions of
the Program to other parties in any way, nor to rent, lease or license the
Program to others parties in any way, nor to rent, lease or license the Program
to others without the prior written consent of Empire; or exploit the Program
or any of its parts for any commercial purposes.
4. Program Transfer. You may permanently transfer all of your rights under
this License, provided the recipient agrees to the terms of the License.
5. Termination. This License is effective until terminated. You may
terminate the License at anytime by destroying the Program. Empire may, at its
discretion, terminate this License in the event that you fail to comply with
the terms and conditions contained herein. In such event, you must immediately
destroy the Program.
6. Limited Warranty. EMPIRE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY FOR THE
PROGRAM AND MANUAL(S). THE PROGRAM AND MANUAL(S) ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT
WARRANTY OF ANYKIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION,
THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR
INFRINGEMNET, ANY WARRANTY AGAINST INFRINGEMENT THAT MAYBE PROVIDED IN SECTION
2-312(3) OF THE UNIFORM COMMERICAL CODE AND/OR IN ANY OTHER COMPARABLE STATE

respect to breaches of this License, in addition to such other remedies as
Empire may otherwise have available to it under applicable laws. In the event
any litigation shall be entitled to recover from the other party all the costs,
attorneys’ fees and other expenses incurred by such prevailing party in the
