Hello, nice mod! Just a problem: I keep seeing a 'FPS' square on the top right corner whenever I load or save game. Can you fix that?

Also, the mod just doesn't reduces the recoil of the weapons, it straight up nulifies it, making it a bit too easy specially in the intro.

I wish I could keep the decals, bodies, bullet holes, blood, shell casings and debris despawn time without affecting the weapons.

Hello!
Sure I can remove the "FPS" square, I'll do this when I'll have free time.
Next, I removed and reduced the weapon recoil in order to player not needed the slo-mo every time when shooting but can enabled the slo-mo when it really necessary. To return the vanilla weapons delete the *.gamdb00p files.

Awesome! I'll be waiting for the fix :)

In the meanwhile I'll try the mod with vainilla weapons and MMod.

Wish you do though since once players beat the main game or Extraction point. There isn't any much to go on.

How do you edit the weapon damage in the gamdb00p file?

I really don't know what to do, i tried all the tools to edit the gamdb00p file but none of them do.

FEAR Public Tools includes the sources of gamdb00p, you don't need to edit the gamdb00p directly, you must compile it from the sources with Public Tools.
The gamdb00p for Extraction Point has no sources, so in this case you can edit it using hex editor and some tricks.

By the way, could you type some tricks to edit compiled gamedb00p files? It would be nice and help to develop FEAR modding community as there is a lack of proper tutorials with regard to FEAR modding.

You may be able to glean some useful info from my comments on my mod page here: Moddb.com

I suck at writing proper tutorials but the basic process I'm using to mod Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate is explained if you dig through my comments on the main page there.

Edit: The comment I was referring to is kinda buried now. Anyway here it is:

"The idea I had was to take an unmodified gamdb file, open it in a hex editor and copy all the 1s and 0s and do the same with a gamdb file with only the infinite flashlight enabled and compare both files side by side in a program designed for comparing text files, like Diff Merge, to see which line actually changes the flashlight and then edit that line in the dlc gamdb files with a hex editor."

So far, it works. Sorta. Just make sure the unmodified file is compiled from the SDK(from the GDBEdit.exe tool) and not the 'offical' one extracted from the game's .Arch00 files(they're slightly different).

When pasting the raw hex in prep for comparing, you'll need a text editor that can set line wraps at specific intervals(column mode). I use UltraEdit for this which costs $$$. For a free alternative, you could try notepad++, sublime text or maybe open libre.

Also, don't use Diff-Merge for comparing the files. It crashes faster than a Kamikaze at Pearl Harbor. I use UltraCompare(free with UltraEdit). If you need a free program, you could try Win-Diff or Win-Merge. Maybe. You need one with a 'go to conflict' feature that will allow you to see the lines above and below the conflict. This is important for searching for the proper line.

That's all I got. Perhaps someone will find this wall of text beneficial in their modding endeavors....

Best mod out there for FEAR! However the FPS box in the upper right almost makes it unplayable, very big eye sore, any way to disable?

Now I start playing the FEAR again and making a new version of my mod, which will be released when I finish the game. I already removed the 'FPS' square in new version.

Nope, RMod is the only mod I've ever installed for FEAR. Also sometimes when I leave a room I'll come back to see that all the bodies are gone.

I was about to download this, but when I saw you messed with damage of rifles and sub machine guns I know it will make the game unbalanced: too easy at some points and too hard in other places.
Shouldn't mess with what the pros are doing

You have not played but you know it will make the game unbalanced? You are a cool guy actually :)
So you need to play original game that "pros are doing" and dont use any mods )

Hi.
I am a bit confused about how to install this. The ReadMe.txt says-"Rewrite the files & folders of this archive into your F.E.A.R. directory."
I dont understand what im supposed to do.And yes,im quite slow when it comes to these things...
Thanks.
One more thing, people should also check out the authors weapon mod for doom 2016.Its subtle but quite nice. The shotgun kills possessed in ONE shot!

Thanks for changing the description but i still cant get it to work.
I copied the content inside the "Rivarez" folder and pasted into the "FEAR Ultimate Shooter" folder.Isnt that the right way to install it?
Please advise.
Thanks.

The installation section of description contains a following info:
"Copy the content of folder in downloaded archive to your F.E.A.R. game folder. If you're asked about overwriting files or folders then overwrite them;"
If you open the downloaded archive, you'll see one folder within named "RivarezMod 4 FEAR & XP". Open this folder and copy full the content of it to your FEAR folder.

I'd say add back or actually increase recoil, and impaling of bodies. Guns feel extremely weak now.
I played some more, It sort of ruins the game; Guns have never felt weaker before. They feel more powerful in Destiny and Fallout 76 than in this mod.

Not too big of a fan of removing the Nail Gun's stick to wall feature. I'm pretty sure that is the only reason people use that gun.

Which item allows for all weapons? Is it Weapons.Fx00p in the ClientFX folder?

To everyone who wants only the graphical tweaks - copy only the following files/folders:
Default.archcfg
Rivarez/ClientFX
Rivarez/GameClient.dll
Rivarez/GameServer.dll

That way you get the blood, gibs, decals and shells that stay forever, but anything else remains untouched (at least the guns behavior, I didn't check thoroughly everything else).
Rivarez, I really appreciate your work here, it's just that most of us need only a part of it :)
