The decision was taken to force the installer to accept only 64-bit Operating Systems. This was done as an overwhelming majority of our players utilise 64-bit Operating Systems and we have been receiving an overwhelming number of CTD reports related to 32-bit Operating Systems. As we have previously stated, we do not consider Elder Kings to be fully compatible with 32-bit Operating Systems. If you wish to attempt to run Elder Kings on a 32bit OS, please download the unsupported Zip Archive.

I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere before and I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but what happened to the portraits for the elven races and Argonians, i vaguely remember and earlier version having better portraits but the current ones are even worse than recolored vanilla one's. I know it seems vain but I cant really play any elven characters now because they just look so bad.
I think that the Bosmer (Wood elves) and the Ayleid (Wild elves) look wonderful. The High elves, Dark elves and Maormer is a little lackluster though.
They all look terrible, the age makes no difference and they look completely different from the other culture's. Even the previous versions which were recolored one's still looked better.
We never had recoloured vanilla portraits. The previous set was very limited in it's customisation options, the females were basically one or two different placeholder customisations, the proportions were completely out of whack with every other portrait set rendering them useless when it comes to cross-compatible cultural clothing sets, the original creator of them is no longer working on the mod and wasn't going to be expanding them and none of us have access to his original models and .psds so we couldn't work on them ourselves.
As for the Argonians, I made the original argonians and they consisted of a handful of different customisation options (i think a grand total of 3 different eye options which were virtually identical), had no real female portrait set and were basically just screenshot cutouts. The new argonians are fantastic in comparison.
Change is scary, but sometimes it's a necessity :)

It's just a warning, you can continue the installation and ignore the warning but you may suffer instability for which we have no solution other than suggesting you upgrade your machine.

why do i get events that are blank and i can not play because it is all blank
That happened to me you need to make sure your crusader kings 2 is updated to 2.0.3.
when does 2.03 come out because mine is up to date
i am playing daggerfall's king and after the birth sign message/event i get a blank message/event that i can't accept or cancel
Delete previous versions of Elder Kings then reinstall and make sure you're using the latest version of CK2 (2.0.3) and that you aren't running any other mods alongside Elder Kings. Those are the only known causes of blank events.
Game crashes right after I chose my ruler!
I having a problem where i cant scroll down the tech menu, this happens if i select either the high resolution files or not.
My laptop meets all of the system requirements, I have the right mod package for my version of CK2 (2.0.3) But my game always crashes and gives the error: "Runtime Error" It says the application requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
If anyone could give any suggestions that'd be just great.

So using a laptop, even with the right specs, is an issue? Didn't realise it was designed for desktop PC use.
Right specs for vanilla CK2 are a little different for Elder Kings. EK requires -at least- 4GB of RAM and we really don't recommend using a laptop specifically with an integrated intel gpu; for reasons unknown to us it -hates- the mod. Updating the drivers usually helps with intel though.
Alrighty well my laptop says it 7.5GB usable ram, and an AMD A4-5000 processor. It's 64 bit, and I've double checked each driver to make sure it's the latest version available (Eg. AMD Radeon HD 8330 for display)
Its OS is Windows 8? Just not sure if you support that or not.
Any OS that CK2 works with the mod should work with. The only one we have issues with really is Linux since some of our casings differ, which affects linux but not windows.

My game crashes everytime on startup Im on a x64 and have 4gb of ram, the error im getting is "virtualfilesystem.cpp:678]: Could not open file: gfx/models/Mapindicators/Western_Chancellor.xsm, error: The system cannot find the file specified." any help would be appreciated :)
I'm having the same trouble as @dealsindoom, i'd love to play this amazing game!!!!! I am on a laptop, but this laptop is up to date windows 8, 64 bit. I have over 500 GB on my harddrive (yes I know that is different than RAM) any help would be greatly appreciated!

We advise you to ensure you have the latest drivers for your Motherboard/CPU and your Graphics Processor and that you have downloaded and installed the very latest DirectX Drivers available.
To increase the chances of Elder Kings running on your 32-bit System, disable all unnecessary DLC (Music Packs, Dynasty Shield Packs, Sunset Invasion, Unit Packs) and do not use the optional Music Mod. Finally another thing you can try is to increase the size of your virtual memory paging file if using a Windows 32bit OS; simply google for your specific OS for instructions on how to do this."
Try the tips in there even if you think you have a Blue Gene setup at home.

I am still having the elf aging bug. My Primarch of the aldmeri dominion just died at 82. Do I have to start a new game for it to work right?
Check the bug tracker dude, if it isn't there then create a report and kobra and his peoples will look into it.
It says in the changelog that they fixed it but I am still having the problem
If it isn't actually fix then its penned down to be fix in the next update as with many other problems, so you may not see results until next version/patch.
Hopefully it does get fixed soon. Have done really well so far even with short lifespans and I don't want to have to abandon my game.
After playing a certain ruler long enough I found it to be a bit boring anyway, new characters spice up the experience by having to fill the badass, nation-conquering shoes of their predecessor, but alas it's up to each individuals preference.
As Darkspencer said. Basically everything that is fixed will have a "Fixed in version: <Version #>" on the report.

Keep getting runtime error! (I use ck2 version 2.0.4 , do not have the legacy of rome installed so checked the non-lor compatility in installation) i really want to play this mod! can someone give some hints? Is it my pc? (im able to run other large mods just fine)
