In the starter of this theme I wrote about the well-known technical problem in the campaign under Win7. I've found that editing the file in accordance with paragraph 2.8 (see Titanium Wars FAQ) solves this problem. Moreover the game will be able to use more memory, and it will be more stable. Here file "DarkCrusade.exe" which was edited by me. Backup your old "DarkCrusade.exe" and replace it by my edited file. Note: You must use it under 64-bit OS. WIn7 for example. Note!!!: Steam version of DoW does not need this fixed exe-file. This exe-file is only for Dark Crusade ver. 1.2 and any DoW-mods compatible with it.

NB! Use it with CD/DVD version of DoW 1.20 only. Do not use it with Steam version of DoW.

oh thank you very much! great warboss!!
long time no see bro
how about win8 x64 stability?
I have no Win8. It is not interesting OS for me. Perhaps DoW stability is the same in Win7 and Win8. DoW is more stable under WinXP than Win7 or other modern OS.
I never found out why, but Dark Crusade used to work fine on my older bro's Windows 8, except after a while it wouldn't allow him to make LAN games (if he tried to host, I couldn't join him). It isn't a big deal since I can host instead (windows 7) but it is still a problem with compatibility. If you could look into what's wrong with DOW 1 and Windows 7 and 8, since I'm fairly sure that nothing really changed under the hood between those two platforms, and even incorporate compatibility patches into your modpack, you're guaranteed to have my #1 mod of the year vote next time around.
I have no problem with network game under Win7. Check your firewall and antivirus settings. About other problem under Win7 read TWM FAQ and/or starter here.
TWM is very old DoW-mod now. It does not need any votes. ;)
Yeah, but you don't know if it'll make the ModOfTheYear awards... when I host, I can play it just fine with him... and it was awesome. I liked a lot of the new models and units. The thing is, I checked firewall and all, so I'm not sure why he can't host. I just wish he could so I could play full graphics (sad, I know, for a 7-year old game, but...) when I play a multiplayer map.
no matter what I do I cant seem to download this mod.
when ever I download it it just becomes blank file in my downloads and if try to open it It has to open with a program on my computer but none of them work please he;lp
Try to download from another link. For example from official link of the TWM. See here:
Forums.warforge.ru
and use download links there.
So can this be used with the Titanium Wars mod? Because it makes my TW mod crash
People with good brain and skilful hands have no problem with this file.
Nowhere in the installation guide or FAQ does it say they can be used together, so excuse me for asking a simple question you don't address elsewhere.
To vectorsigma13. Read Titanium Wars item 2.8.
