Description

This is a compilation with rock/metal remixes of doom's original songs composed by many community artists (See the credits for info about the authors). This goes great with Brutal Doom and enhance it's violent atmosphere even more. This music pack aims to create a Metal experience. Every original midi song of the game has been replaced by remakes using real instruments. Now on volume 4 all missing songs from volume 3 are added.

Is there anyway to place this in a music player? This stuff is just so awesome.

You can download a piece of software and use that to extract the music files out of the .wad file, like Slade for example.

but the thing is it should not be in wad files to begin with since the sorceport it's used in supports pk3 files and zip files now.

I know this is a slightly odd request but do you think you could add a wad or pk3 with dubstep remixes? it's fine if it's too much trouble, I like this metal pack too.

Dubstep doesn't fit Doom at all though.

How do you know? It's just as violent as metal. Besides, the PlayStation version also had a different music (ambient tracks) and it fitted perfectly. In fact, the PS version was my first Doom experience and when I later got my hands on the PC version, my first thought apart from "now I finally get to play it with a mouse" was "holy sh*t, what the hell is that midi garbage?" It kinda grew on me over time despite its midi nature because I was a metal head but I've always preferred the darker and more atmospheric PSX soundtrack.

To launch an add-on just create a shortcut to desktop of the emulator .exe (i use gzdoom for example) and add to the file path properties a -file "C:\path to the add-on\add-on.something" line, this is cumulative (you can add more -file)...mine for example is:

"C:\Program Files\DooM II\gzdoom.exe" -file "C:\Program Files\DooM II\HiresText.pk3" -file "C:\Program Files\DooM II\brutal19.pk3" -file "C:\Program Files\DooM II\DoomMetalVol4.wad" -file "C:\Program Files\DooM II\NewHUD.pk3"

Do I need to combine Volume 1 through 4 because each has different tracks, or only download Volume 4 because it has all the tracks from 1-3 also?

Then the title should say "version" instead of "volume", since the latter is somewhat misleading. My first thought upon seeing this in BD's download section was "OK, so where are the previous 3 volumes?"

1. I suggest you use GZdoom, it has better graphics combined with Brutal Doom
2. put the wad under the styles folder
3. drag and drop the custom map on top of GZdoom.exe (or maybe putting the custom map in the styles folder as well)

How about a reply to a 2-year-and-4-month-old comment? xD I wasn't aware there were expiration dates on permanent forums...

My point was not to silence you, my point was that a) such an unsubstantiated one-liner comment is utterly pointless, and b) GZDoom being the most graphically advanced Doom engine, what would you use instead? Please feel free to code a kickass engine that will kill GZDoom...

I took the liberty of uploading the original ogg files to mediafire resampled to a 44.1kHz samplerate. I'm pretty sure I removed all duplicate tracks and you can convert them to whatever format you please.

Made a WAD with all the 64 tracks resampled to 44.1 kHz, to be compatible with Crispy Doom engine that currently uses SDL sound system that cannot adapt to music sample rate.

Sorry, in the previous version there were files that I resampled myself with an overkill bitrate, now I just made them all renamed duplicates from Xyanide's download Mediafire.com
And here's Xyanide's download that I rehosted, removing only D_DM2INT that is in fact a duplicate of D_INTER Mediafire.com
