The installer is quite large. So large in fact, that I need to wait until after the quarintine to be able to download it (I need to download mods from my phone, since I don't have a hotspot. And I don't have enough space to download the mod, unless if I factory reset my phone)

hey , great work guys been watching the vlogs and cant wait to play but im having some issues with unpacking , whenever i try i get this error message saying checksum error for the 1a and 1c.bin if anyone has any advice would much appreciate it
Are you using 7Zip or Winrar to unpack? Did you watch the installation video? Did you Google the error messages you received? Do you have enough file space on your hard drive/ solid state drive?
hi i tried using both but i mainly use winrar , i watched the video but he had no issues with it but realized at the end he said to go to the discord but i couldnt get any help there , i have enough space on my ssd and tried to google it but its not a proper error message

Is this Mod able to have two player co op?
DaC is primarily a single-player mod but it may be possible to edit some settings to allow for co-op however you'd have to test it yourself as we don't support it.
Hotseat worked fine in the old versions, but scripts do interfere with it in later releases. Not sure about this one.
Yeah from what I recalled it was the scripts that were the main obstacle for hotseat but nowadays with more members and changes being made to the mod I personally can't keep track of everything so I can't guarantee if it will work or not. :P

You can still install DaC V4 into the disc/SEGA version of the game. You'll just need to manually path to where you have the game installed. Please watch the installation video:
Hi, the first turn in at the start of my turn i get a crash with the gundabad orcs. I thought the diplomat would be the prob, since it would be the only thing that would be build that turn. I did the same steps again, and now the turn just ends normal. If i get a crash again i will edit this post with the info i have. Grtz
It's possible you're experiencing the end turn bug where the game crashes either at the end of the turn of an AI faction or at the beginning of the turn of the next AI faction. If you're at the start of the campaign it may be easier to start a new campaign than to try and hunt down the AI army that's causing the crash.
Other than that, make sure you have the LAA patch enabled.

Do not set graphic 1600x900 resolution And don't tick "Restrict Camera" in Game Setting. It works for me.
Mine was crashed when AI turns end. I played High Elves.
Does one need to have Steam installed to play the mod. I had no reason so far to install steam on my pc and would like it to remain that way unless it is critical for mod to run?
You do not need Steam. You can have the SEGA disc version of the game but you will just need to manually change the installation path to wherever you have the game installed. Be sure to watch the installation video.
However, you will need at least 4GB of RAM and a 64-bit Windows operating system.

So, I just played a campaign as Mordor (or tried to at least), and unless I'm mistaken as to how many post-barracks event elites Gondor gets at the beginning of the campaign it appears they are able to recruit post-barracks elites right off the bat. I had nearly full banner armies of Gondor Infantry backed with fountain and citadel guards knocking on the Black Gate at turn 35.
I have noticed in YT playthroughs that you can recruit Fountain Guard at turn one from Minas Tirith. Maybe its a balancing thing, as I know Mordor AI has tendency to spam stack after stack of units that just stream from its territories.
How did you like playing as Gondor? Im just dl V4 now and was planning to play as Gondor as well.
I was playing as Mordor, and Gondor had 4 or 5 stacks that each had post barracks Gondor Infantry and at least 2 units of Fountain Guard and/or Citadel Guard in them. I was able to spam stacks but every time I went up against a Gondor force I had to pit my Orc rabble against elite Gondor infantry. I lost Minas Morgul before turn 20 and was only able to stalemate them afterwards because I could pit 3 armies against 1 of theirs, but it mattered little since I lost 3 full banner armies against 1 army of about 800 Gondorians just because they already had post-barracks event units.
Oh, my bad. I was under the impression that you were playing Gondor. That seems to be rather unbalanced. I have not played DAC in a while, but I remember my experience with the Gondor was that I was for first 40-50 turns dugg in Osgiliath and Cair Andros, just repulsing one Mordor army after the next. Let me ask you, if you know, do I need Steam installed to play the mod. I never use Steam and if there is a way to go around this requirement I would be grateful for the instruction.
No you don't, all you need is a copy of Medieval 2 with the Kingdoms expansion. Can be a disk version or the Steam version, and you don't need Third Age Total War, just the DaC 4.0 installer.
Thank you. I watched the installation guide video and part about steam had me confused. It seemed having steam installed was a "must have" to be able to play V4. How did end your Mordor campaign in the end. From what you wrote previously it seemed you gave up on it.
After I lost the Black Gate, Minas Morgul and Cirith Ungol they were free to storm my lands. They besieged Barad Dur a few times until I no longer had the numbers to hold them off, then I gave up.
Sounds brutal, but at least you got to play. I have been trying all day to start it and always get "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)" error. Anyway, thanks for your help once again.

I have the same error. i've tried. compatibility with windows 7, Launching medieval total war once before installing D&C but i've got no luck. when i try to use the excetuable it gives me the same error.
when i use the .bat as administrator it says they could not find the exectuable, that i may install it wrong. Help.
