The forth installment of Dawn of the Reapers, please read first comment.
Due to the changes made to the mod since .3, LAA is now a necessity! To install please follow the instructions below.
Step by step instructions:
1) Open "Large Address Aware.exe".
2) Select "Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion.exe" to modify (click on the "..." button to browse). It can be found in the following folder:
...\Steam\steamapps\common\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion
3) Check the box specifying that you want to make the game large address aware.
4) Click on save to save the changes.
To install DOTR follow further instructions below.
Delete any previous copies of the mod from your Sins mod directory first.
Extract the folder in the zip file called "DOTR" to your Sins mod directory.
Example for windows XP C:\Documents\<username>\My Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.82
Example for Vista/Win 7/Win 8 C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.82
What as LAA? Any idea where I can get it?
Its included in the zip file.
Will this work with SOASE:R v1.85? If not, do you have any idea as to when it'll be?

LAA expands the amount of virtual memory SoaSE can access.
it should be FFS inspired by the Reaper-FFS of Mass Effect 2 :D
hit the browse button, cant find "sins of a solar rebellion.exe" can only find "sins of a solar rebellion" and i cant select anything to put in the LAA
where is the LAA file cant find it in the zip file unless I'm blind which is most likely
i install the mod and activate the LAA but every time that i start the game, it remains for an hour in the loading screen and after it crashes without any message, can you help me(sorry i there are errors in my gramathic but i dont speak english very well, my motherlanguage is the italian)

It feels like the UI is really bad.I dont know if anyone else feels the same but it annoys me that i cant see the resources and the bye/sell thingy while researching. Also the reversal of the planet development which is now left is a little bit confusing but you get used to. The fact that I had to pin avery planet I discoverd so that is shows at the sidebar is unnecessary and more thing to worry about. But I was really impressed with the gravity wells and the undiscovered worlds and that info card.
Anyways, thanks for your work and I'm sure I will get used to the new version

I am having an issue where for no obvious reason I am crashing to desktop with no error message of any kind. LAA is enabled and working. Is there anything else I missed?
When it crashes without message its because you don't have LAA enabled. Make sure you followed the instructions.
If it still doesn't work after making sure LAA is enabled, try re-downloading Dawn of the Reapers. You could've gotten a corrupted download.
Yep, reinstalled the game and re-enabled LAA. Seems to have fixed the problem what ever it was. All in all a very awesome mod that is going to eat away at my life. :) Thanks for the help. Is there someplace we go to report any bugs that we find?

Is it just me or can nobody play as the Council races and is only forced to play Cerberus?

enjoying the update. just noticed that the council star base does not attack enemy ships when they are in range and it shows that it can have strike craft but there is no way to build them.
that's because we haven't put hangar hard points onto the Council star base yet. so we had to remove or disable the production of fighters on the star base so they don't fly off into the distance. its something we plan to change in the near future.
Is there a way to disable those weird rings around gravity fields? I mean those that say "You are cleared to use FTL" or something like that
Short of not playing the mod....I don't think there is. Not without making the installation process more difficult.
Probably without modding the game files although making a paper cut out to overlay on your screen could be another way to get around it if you really don't like it :P.
Save, quit the game, load the game back up.
there is no SoaSE in my documents, nor in the steam folder. where do I have to put the files now? can I simple add the SoaSE in my documents?
Start sins, go to options then mods then hit the button that says something about showing your mod folder location and it will be created for you.
Loving this but I have some issues.
1) AI not expanding. I have only played 2 games so far to see what was put in with a total of 4 normal AIs and only 1 AI expanded, even after I cleared out neighboring militias.
2) The quarian liveships also have fighters but cannot build any (like the starbase).
3) I am not sure if this was intentional but the Council does not have access to turian/human frigates (I am not counting the Normandy and the Talon as neither one was much used by the respective fleets). I got the impression that while the backbone of both militaries were cruisers they still had large numbers of frigates.
4) Wandering fleets that just....wander. In my last playthrough all of the wandering fleets (batarian & reaper) did not stay to attack any planet they came too, they just kept on a specific path and autofired on ships which got into their arcs.
Play on a harder difficulty, the AI has proven to be very responsive as the difficulty increases.
Isn't this mod done yet? I remember years back when it started. Sheesh. I've moved past the game already.

Yeah, I do love to harp this old tale. Try not to take anything I say to heart, but, I just don't like the idea of waiting years for a mod to finish seeing how myself and I'm sure others would lose interest by the time it's come out. Heck, I barely play video games anymore and haven't touched a mod in years.
A total conversion takes a lot of time, your personal impatience is irrelevant. Try it yourself, do a total conversion mod and then try and complain about how long it takes.
I have. Took me two years. But that was me working by myself without any support or aid whatsoever while learning. Anyway, this type of conversation will never end so let's stop here.

Ok mate, whatever you say. We can just call the release now and you can play an unfinished mod. Better yet, since you're complaining, you can probably do a better and faster job yourself right?
Loving the mod, well done on melding the two different genres of games, I've a quick question about research tree, I'm playing as the council and I've enough war research stations,how do I unlock the renegade research options??
