This is the final freeware release. It contains the full game mode and four skirmish campaigns: Cthulhu Fhthagn!, Azathoth Stirs, Shub Niggurath and Yog Sothoth Awakes.
The tutorial now automatically equips the reporter on every encounter. For now, this only works for items, not for spells and artefacts, but it's already helpful by telling the player which items are generally used for what purpose.
To make things simpler, there are no surprise encounters in the first Chapter of the tutorial. You always get the chance to equip your reporter without any penalty. Further on, surprises become a possibility, but never in a negative way - you only have to decide between keeping the surprise advantage bonus or spending it instead for visiting the equipment shop.
You can now save every card you encounter to disk.
Simply hover the mouse over an encounter, reporter, story, event, sample or personal card (this should work pretty much on anything, even the main menu and upgrade shop) and press "S". The card will be saved in two versions, a low res retro thumbnail/badge and normal res.
The cards are saved as .png files into the game’s [archive] subfolder. This folder is initially named [rename to archive] in order to prevent saving by default.
Because the game also saves the entire sequence of events, you can now review the story afterwards or post images to the net or whatever. However, sample, story etc cards are not saved automatically and you have to do that manually if you want to add them to your collection.

Also, at least in theory, this game can be played cooperatively by up to six people in front of a single computer and TV, sort of like a board game or table top RPG. Simply divide the roles of reporters among the players and then pass on the mouse when someone's reporter card comes up/when their reporter is in the office and ready to go out. Since the group is running on single budget, there should be quite some bickering about who's spending too much on measly shoggots etc, and possibly lots of everyone giving advice to everyone else how to deal with a particular monster...
Try it out!
