EASE-OF-USE-UPDATE: No more console-typing b.s. Just run a skirmish game and press a key. Added a key bind to for easier game setup. (more in-depth info on mod's included readme file) Also did some tweaks on the game itself.-----------Revisited and slightly refined my attempt at making a "horde-mode" for Quake3Arena.
DISCLAIMER:
The various xenomorphs models and sounds, and the M41A weapon model and sounds are NOT MINE. Only got them off the internet from surviving Quake3Community sites, and used them without permission. If ever an issue from the respective owners arose, i'd be willing to take this file off for download. I did this not for profit, but for mere fun.
Just to be clear;
'Aliens3' models and assets - Paul S. and ShitHead
'Xenomorph' models and assets - r.gyrus
'M41A' weapon assets - Janus, Chemical Burn and Sentrallya
'Klendathu Arachnid' models and assets - Paul H. and Redlemons
Revisited my attempt at making a "horde-mode" for Quake3Arena. Applied my latest gore mod mechanic, and refined(tweaked some damage stats, streamlined the weapon roster) some of the existing mechanics and gamerules I modded on the previous version. Also, incorporated the Klendathu Arachnid from Starship Troopers films!
This mod is created in and for (vanilla)Quake3Arena-PointRelease version1.32. I don't know if this'll work with any other version/port of Quake3.
More in-depth info such as installation/running instructions and in-game setups are in the included README text file.
I just love how you fear that some dude called ShitHead will come and claim copyright on something that clearly isn't his ip to begin with for a model for a mod for a 20 year old game.
Other than that looks fantastic tracking and gonna give it a try when I find the time.
Well, not really a copyright thing. I think, more of just "hey man, you got my work on your work" type of callout. Besides that, I'm pretty much pointing out there that I'd never be inspired to make this had I not encounter those works to begin with.
Anyway, I will post another update. Reskinned Doom(guy) and Crash's blue team skin, making it more Colonial Marines-ish. Working on basic teammate bots. :)
Yeah some modding communities care a lot about it, others not so much, and others again do it all the time and nobody minds.
Very Nice job !
Thanks. :)
