The first patch for Covenant at War, we've fixed alot of issues people have been having, added some new content, and tweaked the balancing. THIS REQUIRES THE FIRST RELEASE TO WORK.

It's in the description but here:
This requires the first release, then just copy the data folder in this .zip file into your CaW folder, on most pcs it will be C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\Mods\CaW
Merge folders and replace existing files when asked to.

Copy to Data I see..i looked through a bunch of stuff to find that to..though when i copied over it kinda sucked i had to click move & Replace each time it asks wait till a biig update full of ships comes along..=[ Aye.. Well Thank you for the help! I'm surprised i got an answer this late

If I am not mistaking you can check a box in the lower left corner (apply to all?) which allows you to select 'move & replace' once and your pc will automatically replace all files.

So, I don't know what god I have to thank for that, but i managed to download it from Moddb pretty easily. So, I tested it, and just like Duke Nukem would say : Aaah... MUCH BETTER NOW !
This patch makes the game more playable for both Covenant and UNSC. No more " rush = win " for UNSC, and no more " no UNSC rush = win " for the Covenant. As a UNSC player, I am totally found of the new Orion-class battleship : it is big, and spawns a lot of Longswords / Shortswords for fighter cover, though it grows pretty vulnerable if it has to face the burst of many Covenant ships alone. The decreased building times makes it finally playable for the UNSC, all the more as space station upgrades are considered as technology. Decreased costs and accessibility to line battleships also makes it possible for the UNSC to face Covenant destroyers. Thanks for this Christmas gift, CaW team.
So now, to arms, Mankind ! Remember Reach !

i dont know if its only me but now and then the game crashes during a fight

i finally have the orion to kill those pesky covenants on normal mode but now it keeps crasing after a while >.<

Covies still don't show up on the minimap though. You guys should look into that.

I didn't even know there was coding for pointing straight instead of broadsiding. I just thought the AI programming did that to get most of the guns on target.

Well the AI can be programmed too, it's a bit of both worlds :)
You can change the parameters to make it easier for the AI to fire from a certain position. At least that's what I understand from it, Blamtroid did the changes and he obviously has more knowledge on this :P

I think he just pointed the missile hardpoints forward. Thus no broadsiding required anymore.

Yeah, they all have their hardpoints at 45 degrees towards the front now.

I installed both downloads, and whenever i start the game i get this-
xml parse error - File.\Data|XML|GUIDialogs.xml: file has syntax errors, see log file
I've tried the shortcut and batch file, and running as an admin. Can't even find a guidialogs.xml file anywhere either. Playing Gold Pack.

A surprising amount of people have this issue considering we've never even used guidialogs.xml, some people have fixed it by updating their FoC to 1.1, try that.

The Gold pack apparently only includes all patches until 2006, while there are actually patches up to 2007. Both are called 1.1.
You can review your up2date status on the menu screen in the lower left corner.

Never mind i fixed it. Apparently i was missing the config.meg file in the games root data folder. How/Why i was missing this file i have no idea. Thankfully i have multiple FoC folders for different mods, and was able to see what was missing.

I have not experienced this bug myself, nor heard of it by the other devs. Other comments on the sumarry page also specified matches with more then one team, so it should be possible. This may sound like a stupid question, but are you playing maps that support multiple teams? Because not all maps support multiple teams.

Im only trying to do a 2v2 like me and an ai vs 2ai on one team only using teams 1 and 2 but when i add another ai its refuses to allow me to change it to another number

I understand, but the same principles apply. To be able to use multiple players, even if they are split between just two teams, you'll need a map that supports four teams(or in this case four players). This is specified with the numbers in front of a map (i.e (2),(3),(4)). So again, are you trying to play a map which supports multiple players?

To verify wheter or not the build + patch allowed it, I just tried it myself and I was able to select multiple players/teams on the maps that allowed it. So it should be possible.

I've found some strange behaviors in the mod but they are not very serious. The only serious problem I seem to be having is that when I fire the MAC Cannon at one target, it would sometimes fire at a different one or fire in an area with nothing at all.

I once tried playing a galactic conquest game, I know this mod only addresses the space skirmishes, but I saw that several of the units are moved to the side of the space production tab in an area I can't get to. There are several ships that have multiple build slots, like three areas to build longswords, two for building shortswords, two areas to build marathon cruisers, and so forth. They would also act as different units when selected. Once when playing in an manual resolve, the covenant space station had some indestructible hard-points.

I listed the problems I had for the Galactic Conquest because I think you, as the creators of this mod, should be aware of it so you could fix it when the ground mod comes out. As for the MAC Cannon issue I have been experiencing, I don't know if it's just me or others are also experiencing this problem.

The MAC cannon thing is because of the way the FoC engine works, it allows opportunity targeting, so if a different unit to the one you've targeted comes into range first it'll probably shoot that one. Just wait until your ship is pointing at what you want to hit before you activate the MAC.

you first need to install the actual mod then you extract the files that are in the update/fix into the data file the will be in your mods folder so basically just extract them to

C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\Mods\CaW\Data

or

C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\Mods\CaW\Data

depending on which version of windows you have then launch with pedro launcher which you can get from this link

That won't work for Steam which he was asking for.

You want unzip the files into the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\star wars empire at war\corruption\Mods For a 64bit OS or C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\star wars empire at war\corruption\Mods For a 32bit OS

Then right click Starwars Empire at War Gold in Steam, select properties, Set Launch options and enter sweaw MODPATH=Mods\CaW

great fun epic mod but some things that don't seem right the gun platforms you buy and place are way way to small the rail gun need to be suped up hardcore cos that thing can go through and destroy 2 covie ships with full shield and still F**K up a third and most the ships are to small if you could just increase the ships sizes half way through a battle i couldn't find my prowlers

Do you have any source that shows this info? I think you may be referring to SMAC platforms, which are different from (our) railguns.

Hey guys, I know you have only released the space portion of the mod but when land and GC is release, I have a suggestion. Since there are 4 generations of spartans in Haio and the UNSC infinity now houses the 4th gen, How about combining the ARC hammer's ability to make Dark Troopers(since they have 3 types of the same unit) and the UNSC Infinity as a super ship. When it is on a planet, it will be able to make spartans.

So, just for an idea... maybe in the next patch you could set the main menu music to the Halo 3 main menu music, that would make it 1000X better at start, besides that, a very good patch

That's something users will have to do theirselves, because if we'd do it we'd get into legal problems (since we're not allowed to use assets from the Halo games, including music).
Also Blamtroid wanted an original soundtrack for this, which I am cooking up.
