Here's an excellent new sound mod by a new developer in the database known as Coper.
COPER’S COD2 SOUNDCOLLECTION

This mod changes every weapon sound (except of scoped Gewehr43 and webley – I like them) in both singleplayer and multiplayer and adds music to multiplayer stock maps.
Installation
------------
Just put the zzz_copers_soundcollection.iwd into your Call of Duty 2/main folder.
Works well in singleplayer and multiplayer unpure servers.
Credits

I collected sounds from different games, movies and soundmods (see the list bellow) and put them into single file.
Some of the sounds were recorded by me and I put the music into mp as well.
