Contra 008 FINAL version is here!!!
Long work is finally done and now you can enjoy full 008 version.
Please read the installation instructions carefully.
Installation instructions:
Extract Contra008FINAL.rar. Copy all contents of the extracted folder to your Zero Hour directory. To play the mod, open "Contra Launcher.exe".
You will find startup options such as music, language, unit voices, etc. Decide your preferences and click "Launch".
Contra will auto-detach itself from Zero Hour on exit, so that you can launch original Zero Hour or any other mod.
Manual installation instructions for those having problems with launcher:
1. Put all files from Contra008FINAL into your Zero Hour folder.
2. Rename !Contra008.ctr to !Contra008.big.
3. Rename !Contra008EN.ctr to !Contra008EN.big OR rename !Contra008RU.ctr to !Contra008RU.big if you want Russian language.
4. Rename !Contra008VOrig.ctr to !Contra008VOrig.big OR rename !Contra008VLoc.ctr to !Contra008VLoc.big if you want English unit voices.
5. Rename !Contra008MNew.ctr to !Contra008MNew.big OR rename !Contra008MStandard.ctr to !Contra008MStandard.big if you want vanilla soundtracks.
6. Rename Scripts folder to Scripts1 (which is located inside Data folder).
7. Start the game from generals.exe.
And for those playing Zero Hour on Origin (C&C: The Ultimate Collection):
Download the Fixed Launchers from: Bibber.eu
Zero Hour version 1.04 is required!
If you see strings like “MISSING:bla-bla-bla” instead of names and descriptions and/or purple rectangles instead of buttons and unit icons, here is the fix: Rename Contra008.ctr and Contra008EN.ctr (or Contra008RU.ctr if you use Russian language) to .big extension, then extract with FinalBig in a new folder named with the language of your game (German, French, etc.). This new folder must be in the same folder where you installed Contra. Or check out this video: Youtube.com (Thanks AGX750 for being helpful).

I installed it ran the launcher pressed play and nothing changed... just the original game
Please give us more info:
- what OS do you have?
- have you extracted all from archive main folder?
- do you have First Decade?
i do can you tell me how to install it that would be great because i have same problem as skyhunter
is there some way to make the ai not on omg hard mod 100 they bum rush me or zearg me. but i liked it for what was given out too me.
um, no the devs set the difficulty to:
Easy- Hard AI
Medium- V. Hard AI
Hard- Insane Hard AI
just be fast in building and pumping units out in the barracks and factory as fast as you can and build up a lot of defenses as in a lot cause a single patriot battery missile won't do much and will be easily overwhelmed by the AI.
BTW, haven't you played the older versions? cause the older versions are already set on those difficulty setting (mention above)
I have first decade but i copy the clean zero hour file and paste it in EA games so i can play more mods, i did extracted all the files plus the launcher in the new copied zero hour folder but somehow if i use the launcher.exe or without launcher.exe, they both start just the original zero hour and not the mod... all launcher.exe stuff doesn't work on my laptop tho :T any idea how to fix that problem? so no, could you make a file with 008 final without launcher.exe needed?

I have Command and Conquer ultimate collection from Origin and the game just launch without the mod. I have this program: C&C TUC - Fixed Launchers Setup.exe that worked for that problem, but not anymore. Any solution ?
I found the solution just search for a new version of the program. If anyone need it, here some link: Mega.co.nz . By the way anyone know how to change the resolution to HD ?

is this compatible with windows 8 64 bit?
First i deleted the 008 contra beta 2 files then i extracted the contents and clicked on launcher and got the error : Contra 008 is not a valid win 32 blah blah blah
i tried changing contra 008.ctr and EN.ctr to .big but got the same error
i've got win xp 32bit and first decade game

sweet thank god i scrolled down in the comments to read them and found this otehrwise i would have posted on how to do manual install its working like a charm now :D might be a good idea to add this in future updates if theres gonna come more of them

Manual install instructions added to file description. Click on "read more +" to see them. It should work for those with The First Decade and Origin versions of Zero Hour.

I am running window 7 yes I have extracted it and yes im using first decade my old cd was borrowed a few years ago :P

Hi dont know if i should post bugs here but after i defeated super weapons general (im playing airforce in challange mode it is the first mission) at the end it shows that i have defeated infantry general :P

One thing I noticed that was a bit off was when I was playing Laser Gen The description for the Microwave Beam in the generals upgrade screen says it doesn't damage buildings but it did when I used it on my opponent.

Cause i dont understand how i am supose to do it, where i must put files etc, i have my game in spanish
Do what it says step by step. If you are bad at English, translate the instructions with www.translate.google.com
I do exactly what it says and nothing happens
I rename the 2 files to the big extension
Then i open both with finalbig and extract them to a folder called Spanish, then i put the folder in the game's folder where contra mod its installed, but again nothing happens :l

Okay, try this:
Open the files with FinalBig. Find and rename all "English" folders to your language (in this case "Spanish"). For example, select Data\English\Art\Textures\Defeated.tga), click on Edit -> Rename File and rename it to Data\Spanish\Art\Textures\Defeated.tga. Do it for all files where it says "English". When you are done, click on File -> Save and close FinalBig when finished.
Same problem, did everything it says, I have Win 8.1 and I've played almost every mod on it i even mod the game on it but can't get this copy to work, reinstalled C&C FD yesterday.
What language is your game?
Does the folder have to be in the Data folder?
