Change Log V 3.0  No $ Sound on Bug Hunt  Toggle Fog on / off with F2 (it gives the game more contrast and reduce the "gray haze")  No stocked game HUD from start up on MP and Bug Hunt (for SP you need to toggle it with F1. o BTW...you can toggle the "stocked" HUD with F1 on MP and Bug Hunt as well)  Better AO performence (SSGI) even on 4K  Add Gaussians Anamflare  Add lensdirt  Add Mission Time HUD (this is a beta version. The HUD is still static and it´s made for Christopher Winter. If you wanna play without, install the pack without the mission time HUD)  Toggle from Mastereffects to „stocked gfx“ ingame with the „roll“ button

Really?!?

Did you installed the "ini_tweaks" right? And set them to "read only"?

The "Mission Time" HUD is always there, You can´t toggel it with F1, only the lifebar etc..

And the fog toggel (F2) works only at "fog areas", like outside of LV-426, or the cargo bay on the sulaco.

If the game still starts with the SEGA / Gearbox video, etc., the ini_tweaks are wrong installed. ;-)

What is exactly this "roll" bottom that you speak of to enable and disable the master effect?

It´s actually the button between the print and pause button. On my keyboard it´s called "roll". It also called "scroll lock".

Awesome work Cilitbäng! You've really improved this game. I love to know the cash register sound is finally gone from Bug Hunt.

One question, do you think it is possible to make the aliens in Bug Hunt always spawn with normal Hit Points, yet, in increased numbers each wave? I've always felt that was the worst feature of the gamemode. :/
Or it's the kind of thing that's beyond the scope of modding, on this particular game?

I play BH with the survival xp v2. So the hitpoints are ok for this mod. Without this mod, the hitpoints are awful!

Hey! Thanks for answering!

I do use the survival xp v2! It's a great improvement, yet, I fear still the hit points become huge eventually, as in; having to use more than an entire clip to bring down a xeno... I haven't played in a few months though, there was some sort of update perhaps to the mod? Doesn't seem though from the site.
Basically, in BH, eventually the Aliens get too much life, they resist too much damage, and that's just not realistic and it's plain dull and boring, as opposed of actually challenging and canon to the movies. Forcing their HP to remain static would be awesome, but also making their numbers get bigger each wave would rock! Imagine playing Tribute map, final wave, the motion tracker going crazy while you and your buddies are making your last stand at Operations... classic moment! Hehe.

I hope eventually someone cracks that up. ;)

Hmmm....the problem is, you can change the hitpoints only global (yet). Maybe there is a way to stop the dynamic in one of the BH files. But this means "hex editing". And I hate this way of moding! And it´s the only way so far to mod this game (gameplay. AI, etc.).

But this is BH....every new wave is harder than the last one. On Co-op it´s really great! I have no problem with it.

Actually this no $ sounnd mod was not our plan. We (still) try to make the AI a bit smarter and faster. We found the "no § sound" in one of the core game files and not in the DLC folder for BH. It´s really strange!

That is strange indeed. It seems the team who made this game were not just lazy but also really messy.

Anyways, I am grateful you guys keep making these great mods and improving the Aliens experience for all us long time movie fans, hehe. Thank you for your time Cilitbäng. :)

This week I got two examinations. After this I got some time for hex editing...

And yes...the team who made this game got no time or were lazy and messy like hell! But the edited UR3 engine is crap as well. Totaly inefficient on lighning and shadows. It uses sooo much RAM and looks $hity!

Thats why tweaks (like master effects) works better. as a real mod. :-)

Hahaha. One of these days you and a handful of other talented modders will find the way to synchronize and dispose of enough time, and, together; come up with a real Aliens game, whether Fox likes it or not heh.

Heh. As of right now, I wish the Alien Isolation team would come up with a DLC that includes a Pulse Rifle and killable Aliens, but that's just wishful thinking.

More infos, please!

- rig (CPU and GPU)
- os

Those gfx tweaks needs a GPU with 1 GB VRAM or more.

If you running the game with a AMD Card, the tweaks couldn´t work 100% and "could" causes crashes or low fps.

If you have "uncompressed_size" files from the "DERH10_Base.upk" or the "PecanGameHorde.upk". Delete them.

Install the tweaks and mods step by step. And try to run it after every step, to see were the problem is.

Yep I tried it, but still get the crash error sign. It saids....

Failed to find file for package PecanGameHorde for async preloading. Fault module KERNELBASE.dll.

This is strange! Reinstall the game. And try to run my Pack without the "no $ sound mod".

BTW...you need the 1.40 Version! Black Box or other "black" copys wont work with it. ;-)

Only the real steam version is gonna work.

Yeah I got it to work my mistake was installing the DERH10_Base.upk PecanGameHorde.upk that I thought I needed to install, but guess not. It works now but there is a major drop in fps and very blurry in the distance.

The blurry calls "depth of field" aka DOF. And the fps drops comes with a other AO System.

But even on a AMD Dual Core with a 9800GT I got stable 35fps. With a new GPU you should get 70 - 80 fps.

You can disable the gfx tweaks ingame with the "roll button" or "scroll look" to get the full fps of 120.
