INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Install the stock PotC and make sure it runs OK
2. Create a folder anywhere, such as in "Downloads"
3. Download Part 1 and Part 2 and put them in that folder
4. In that folder, click on the EXE
5. Browse to your PotC install. Point the installer there
6. Choose the options you want when asked
7. Play!
CRUCIAL INSTALLATION TIPS:
1. You MUST install this on top of the unmodified stock game

The mod is NOT a standalone game!
- DON'T install the game to Program Files,
otherwise Windows prevents it from installing correctly
Install to, for example, C:\Games\Pirates of the Caribbean
- Check out the controls in

- Set the game's settings to your liking in the
Options>Game Preferences menu

Can you please help me guys ?
Ive downloaded New horizons build 14 beta 4.0 upon starting the game i noticed that the ports in the world map aren't showing. it only shows the name of the island then you have to manually sail to the said port or just do a quick jump. but when you look at the world map you wouldnt know where is the port on that specific island because it doesn't show? any ideas how to fix this ?
You probably are on realistic settings. If you are on realistic settings you first need to find the port before it shows up in the fast travel etc.

You don't. Redownload is required, because both files are brand new.

Hello, I cannot get the standard game to run (on windows 10) due to the engine.exe problem, I have tried the swiftshader and that does not seem to be working. How can I get the game to work?

EDIT: found the problem and solution:
problem: integrated intel graphics card, sea.dll crashes the game (had same problem with stock PotC)
solution: replaced the sea.dll file i found on pirates ahoy! forum. the sea looks a bit oily but it doesn't interrupt gameplay

That is also included in the modpack installer itself.
the game still crashes because of sea.dll file. can't use that fix i don't know why.
also one question for the game: when i take the cursed aztec gold, why does my health drop to 20 points during daytime? during night time it is equal to normal hp + bonus hp.

Hey.
I have a problem. Everytime i open the game it opens in the down right corner of the screen and also is a big part offscreen. Also if i close it by clicking that X button to close the game it says "Abnormal termination".
I've had that issue with the game showing in the lower right corner myself. Setting the game's ENGINE.exe to use the "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)" Compatibility Mode solved it for me.
I got a major problem with the installation.
I downloaded booth parts of 4.0, and put them onto my desktop into a folder (called New Horizon). Now, I started the installer, and linked it to my installation folder (that being C:/games/Pirates of the Caribbean), but as soon as I confirm that and the installation bar pops up, i get the following 3 messages after each ofter:
Main Files archive not Present. Place 'b14_beta4_final.tar'in this folder to continue.
Main Files archive not found. Skipping Section.
Build 14 Beta 4.0 Main Files not found. Make sure to install those through this wizard first!

You need to put the file you download (the rar file) into the same folder as the installer, do NOT extract the files and put them into the same folder.
The Installer EXE actually tells you what to do:
"Place 'b14_beta4_final.tar' in this folder to continue."
If you do that immediately when it tells you, the installation would continue without you having to restart the installer. If you don't, then it'll fail that part and skip.
It does still try to install the Update Files afterwards, since you may accidentally have selected the "Main Files" when you intended to only install the Update.
So that explains why you get three messages in a row. They're there to help you. ;-)

Just press "read more..." above and follow the instructions. Previous versions are not necessary.
ok so every time I start a new game under tales of seahawl it loads and i talk to malcolm, no problem, and then whenever I go to try to enter port after going above deck it always gives me an error message saying it "can't read memory"? Any help guys? I love this game and the history of sailing so this mod seems awesome to me but it wont work.

I installed potc stock game, it runs fine, downloaded both parts here, put into a folder. I have Config and Engine in that folder, I don't see EXE from instructions. When I run the game from Config or Engine in part1+part2 folder, when I start a new game screen is black. I can press F1 and F2 and it shows modified menues but I cannot see "world" or actually play the game.
Any help?

I can't install the game, because it says that original game not found. But I installed PotC and it works fine. I've got no that problem earlier. Win7, x64. Please, help me, I love "New Horizons" so much!
The installer searches for an "ENGINE.exe" and "readme.txt" in the destination folder. The original game has those files, so it should work as long as you have the 2003 game by Akella installed.

hi, mod works good only i get a few weird things..
the worst one is when in a fight, my character all of a sudden sheaths his sword (and i get killed) for no reason at all! i get an error that says something like "missing charachter (...something something...) - fightingtraining_1"
anybody else have this issue? it's killing me, literally. so incredibly annoying!
That sounds weird. Is this during the tutorial at the beginning of the game?
Anyone have an issues saving the game. I open the save game interface and click save but it will not save the game. Am i missing something here?

hey i have a problem where with 24 lbs carronades and 12 lbs long guns and up some of them sound like 4 lbs long guns which ****** me off way more than it should and i just cant stand it does anyone know how to fix this?

We investigated this last year and proved it was a 'false positive'. Norton virus scanner should now no longer mark the mod as a 'virus-trojan'.
I cannot get Build 14 beta 4 to work. The menu appears fine but when I select a story-line to play it begins to load and then randomly returns to main menu. Also doesn't seem to have the new story-lines such as A Fine Gentleman (James Norrington), Lord Of The Sea (Davy Jones), Nelsons First Command, No Quarter (Blackbeard), Curse Of Cortes (Barbossa). PLEASE HELP. Loved the original Build 14 so very keen to play this new improved version. Step to step instructions would be great. Thanks.
