1. Installation / Running
*TO RUN THIS YOU NEED VERSION 21 OF BRUTAL DOOM, AS WELL AS ZANDRONUM (FOR MULTIPLAYER), OR IF
GZDOOM YOU WILL NEED BOTS TO PLAY AGAINST. OPENGL REQUIRED AS WELL!!!!!!
1.0 Installation
Included Files:
BHR.ini Doomseeker config file. All the recomended settings for play.
bots.pk3 Stops the bots from chatting (helps botplay a little, they are still dumb though)
BHR.wad The .wad file for Brutal Hell Royale
Unzip BHR.wad and (optionally) bots.pk3 to whatever folder you keep your DOOM mods in.
1.1 Running Brutal Hell Royale
The easiest way is to use DoomSeeker and load the BHR.ini file. All the settings for optimal
play will be there already. You can choose to play with bots (offline), or join / create a
server. Also, if not using DoomSeeker, you can drag and drop the files onto your source port
executable...
1.2 Load Order
Load bots.pk3 first if you choose to use it. Next load Brutal Doom, then you can load Brutal
Hell Royale.
2. Playing Brutal Hell Royale
Brutal Hell Royale is a multiplayer add on for Brutal Doom, intended to run on Zandronum. It
is meant for LAST MAN STANDING game mode. The rounds last for 1:30, but after 1:00 the (surviving)
players are teleported to the same location to fight to the death. It is lightning fast and VERY difficult. It is
not meant to "fair." You will notice that not all spawns are created equal...but there are many ways to
take advantage of "bad" ones as well...
2.1 BOTS
While meant for play against humans, bots can be fun and challenging, due to the sheer luancy of the rounds.
To add a bot, press the ~ key to bring up the console. Type "addbot". You can also bind a key to do this.
"Removebots" removes all, "removebot" removes one.
**THE MORE BOTS YOU ADD, THE SLOWER LEVELS GET. DOOM LEANS ON YOUR CPU HEAVILY, AND BRUTAL HELL ROYALE HAS
SOME LEVELS THAT PUSH THE ENGINE VERY HARD. BE WARNED, YOU MAY GET SLOWDOWN, ESPECIALLY WITH 24 PLAYERS ON
BHRO2.
***ALSO, I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PROGRAM THE BOTS ANY BETTER. THEY WILL STAND AROUND AND DO A LOT OF DUBM SHIT.
