After 4 years of hard work we are ready to release the first ever build of Battleground 44! What started as a simple remake turned into so much more! This download consists of the Core Mod files. Simply extract this folder named Battleground44 anyplace you wish. This is mod build 0.5, as such this is not at version 1.0 yet as there are still many things needing to be taken care of. However that being said, you get a full standalone release, with ReShade built in with even a preset fully made for Ray Tracing which is named Battleground44_high_RayTracing,ini you should choose by pressing Shift + F2 and selecting from settings. We also have built in offline rank which is a nice addition.
We hope everybody realizes that while we are not at the 1.0 version we wanted to be at, after 4 years of hard work we didn't want the community to wait any longer and the mod is in a very complete playable state. If you find any bugs please be sure to let us know. If the game crashes please try again on the same map by going to launch the mod from the debug batch file in the mod directory and taking a screenshot of the error message for us. Thanks and please enjoy this love letter to the classic fans!
IMPORTANT! READ!
There is a folder with the correct shader cache that you must use. When you use it frame rate will be much better. I have way less powerful PC than you and get up to 80fps in Carentan on maximum settings after I fully load in and spin my character around in a circle a few times to render everything in memory. I found it helps to quickly choose the spawn point and weapon and press enter on Carentan. Anyways my specs are FX 8350, RX 570 4GB, 16GB ram. Open the mod directory and follow the instructions for adding the shader cache. THis MUST be performed each time graphics settings are changed, or the mod generates shader cache on it's own. I tried to make the folder as obvious as possible naming it "!IMPORTANT SHADERS FIX! Read!"...
Note: If using ReShade do not enable Anti-Aliasing in game, it will break some effects, plus ReShade already handles AA.

Nice mod, but I found a vug with the british anti tank (armed with sten). When I play this class it crashes to desktop anytime I try to switch weapon
