After many years, we want to finally share with you the first ever Korean War FPS! Enjoy this first release of Battlefield: Korea!

What started as a project by twin brothers from Germany, who wanted to make a game about the "Forgotten War" and was thought long dead, comes to you after 11 long years since it's inception. This has been a long journey to get to where we are today, and we just want to thank the fans for their support over the years, and especially over these past 8 months since the mod was miraculously revived in April of 2016.
We would also like to remember those who lost their lives fighting in the war on all sides of the conflict. It is for their sacrifices that we wanted to make this forgotten war remembered.
First of all, without the help of the former Black Sand Studios members, whom we were also part of once, this mod wouldn't stand before you here today for a first proper release. The teams over at Project Reality, Israeli Defense Force: Fight for Independence, Battlegroup Frontlines, and Eve of Destruction 2 as well as Forgotten Hope 2 Community Map pack Pacific theater helped us out greatly. Donating missing assets to us. From the bottom of our hearts here at Battlefield: Korea, we would like to extend our gratitude towards those selfless brothers and sisters whom helped this mod become all that it could be in these past 8 months since it was revived.

Hey guys, we are aware the mod might be unstable at times, and we will work towards making it more stable in the future, but after being in development hell for so long, we wanted to make sure everybody could at least enjoy the mod for Christmas this year!
We know it needs more work, but we invite you to help us improve it along the journey.
When I'm going to activate the Mod within BF2, it goes out and when it goes into an error ... How do I get it? Gotta Create A Shortcut To This?
Already found a couple bugs : 1 ) missing the sound of the slide of the shotgun (( after the shot )) , 2) missing ( or I just don't notice ) the slide of the pistol (( after insertion clips)) that "Colt1911" and "TT33" , 3) fingers of the character when reloading certain weapons "are included in textures" (( I hope you understand what I mean )) so the same game from time to time crashes while on not clear reasons , this is all as well very nice mod I hope you it is not abandoned and will continue to update :) P. S Sorry for my English .
Yes, we are aware of all of those problems, we plan to improve it more, but some things just couldn't be fixed for the first release unfortunately.
And yes, it will crash every once in a while with no errors. We are trying to see if we can get the crashes to zero in the future. We have a lot of content so we are trying to just polish and other edits for later releases.
Sorry it can't be perfect, but we hope it will show everybody this mod has a lot of potential, and hopefully with us releasing it to the public, it might help to bring other developers on board to help us polish everything.

Another bug found : M2Carbine has no sound when firing in automatic mode .
No sound? That can't be right. I wonder what the reason is for it on your end? I tested it just before I uploaded it and it is working for me. It is the gun I use the most on the US team. That sounds odd also about the shotgun. It sounded fine when I was using it a few hours ago on Eagles Nest map.
EDIT: Just checked those weapons again and I had the M2 carbine working for me. Although I see what you mean about the Shotgun. Never noticed that before. I will look into it thanks for the heads up.

I don't know about you but I "M2Carbine" in automatic mode, not making a sound ....

Congrats on the release! But i have an question. Did the Americans really had Mi-4 helicopters? I am asking because on bocage i saw an Mi-4 with american markings.
It serves as a place holder for now.
Mi-4 was a Soviet copy of the American Sikorsky H-19 helicopter. It is similar enough to the American helicopter, but it is only a placeholder for right now.
Here you can see how similar they look to the H-19.

Wow, really? You know the weapon selection icons would be literally behind the minimap right? Plus, all you have to do is press M. Not that hard.... Look at minimap to see if it is friendlies you are about to shoot. Also familiarize yourself with the different factions. USA, Chinese and North Koreans look vastly different.

Lol... yeah this isn't Call of Dookie or some other fanboy game, kids. Pay attention to what you're aiming at before you shoot. I always play with everything hidden. Have to use judgement and pay attention to whats going on in the AO. Part of what makes the gaming experience fun. Bet they'd totally lose their **** on PR or ArmA, too.

how can i apply this mod?
Extract the content of the 7zip archive to the Battlefield 2/Mods folder. You can start the mod with a launcher like BF Revive, or from inside BF2 go to custom game. Or make a shortcut to the BF2 icon on desktop and make a command line edit to auto launch the mod. Google is your friend.

This is a great mod tho
AI is kind of dumb now, we plan on having much smarter AI later on. We just wanted all of the basics done for the first release. Some people have been waiting for this mod for 11 years. We would rather get it out now, and not make fans have to wait forever, and let us continually improve what we can. Also, this release is to hopefully show people the potential of the mod, and bring other devs on board that are willing to help us further polish this mod.

My game is locked at 60fps :-(
Is there any settingsfile I can edit ?
Actually yes.
You can disable this by going to the mod directory and opening the file GameLogicInit.con with notepad, and remove the line that reads below.
game.lockFps 60
Then you can save the file with notepad.
Also, if you want to remove the fps overlay in the top left of the screen follow these instructions.
Open that file again, and find this line and change it to the value below.
renderer.drawfps 1
Change it to be
renderer.drawfps 0
Save and close.
You can also make a shortcut to the BF2 icon you have on desktop, and right clicking and going to properties. Once there find the target line, and add this to the end exactly how it is between the parenthesis.
" +modPath mods/bfkorea"
For example, I have the origin version, so the target should look like this.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/bfkorea
Make sure to press apply and close. You can also choose the icon from the mod folder as well.
Click properties, and go to shortcut, then click change icon. It should look like this if you have it installed to same directory as I do.
%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Origin Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\mods\bfkorea\bfk_icon.ico
Just browse to that file in the mod directory, and then press apply to save, then ok.
That is it, you should now be able to start BFK from it's own .exe with custom icon from your desktop or wherever you sent the shortcut.

How are you running the mod? That sounds like a very strange issue. Never had that problem. Did you make a shortcut to the BF2 .exe and edit it to start up BFK?
I'm starting the game from the BF2.exe (default) , and I have not created any shortcut for the BFK, it is necessary to create one ?
No, it should work going directly to custom games and choosing BFKorea from the list. Just try following the instructions above to make a new shortcut to BF2 and add the line to make it launch the mod.
I found that creating a shortcut to only launch the Mod would work, but still continues, by opening and closing of the nothing :/
And you are able to run other BF2 mods fine? This is very strange, I don't know what the problem is unfortunately. Only thing I could suggest is to see if you can try installing it on a spare PC and see if the same issue happens. Alternatively maybe try making the window the same size as your screen for a temporary solution, so you would add after the command line for starting the mod from the shortcut, you would do this for 1080p " +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1080 +modPath mods/bfkorea" Make sure you add the space after the bf2.exe part.

Hey guy, I am sorry to inform you again that, like, I can play now, but only for a certain time, because after it closes alone once more :/ . I tested on an other PC , and still, settings all in the 'sitting' in HIGH, but unfortunately the error remains :/
