Summary
Classic BF2 Vanilla feel, but now with realistic HD look, increased immersion and replaced the crappy infantry game play for a realistic 2018 model. Which for me, was the only thing that always sucked in BF2.

Real Ballistic Environment 2.0, now includes:

- Each weapon have it's real projectile with respective real mass and aerodynamic coefficient

- All the weapons are similar to the replaced vanilla ones in style / efficiency but with more types of custom silenced pistols, and custom Sniper rifles that I made.

Extensively tested and reviewed, all the maps have 64 player areas and epic 64 players game modes now!
Optimized performance + Stable multiplayer server compatible
- Hours of testing, with lots of fixes, every new weapon received LODs for optimal multiplayer experience, performance was tweaked in every map and vegetation, DXT5 files without alpha channel were converted to smaller DXT1 format without quality loss (for less memmory usage).
- Codes, useless folders and files were cleaned up. Total full game size of only 6.8GB using 1.7GB of ram (needs 1.5GB+ videocard)

I hope someone set a nice US Ranked server soon as we already have 2 in Brazil.
Those 6GB are for 88% of 1.5 Vanilla content.
Well our mod Battlefield: Korea is also up there in size. I am thinking of doing a split release of core files and maps separate with our planned Christmas update, as it is around 6gb as well with our latest internal build.
But it is true these higher quality models are a larger size too. :)
I still have about 1 hour 35 minutes till the download finishes on my end. I will let you know how I like it with the upcoming review! Thanks again!

if crash at startup maybe cause by ur resolution.. set ur pc resolution to 800x600 1st.. ignore if this doesnt help :P

Yes it is a stand alone version similar to how Project Reality is. This is actually a very good thing because you can keep 2 versions.
well I don't recommend keeping 2 versions since this one can handle all of vanilla maps also.. how you made it work?
I just kept trying to get it work with the same login info with both versions. But online your version shows red on ever official vanilla map, so I am unable to join other servers with it. But now I have both versions running well no issues.

Oh dang! I should have removed the stock BF2 game and replaced it with this? I just replaced the files with this mod. Maybe that's why I'm getting random crashes? I'll give it a shot.

I thought that also in the beginning but that's not true, lot's of jealous people trying to put you down during your journey. But I'm definitely having a lot of fun with my friends now in the HD version.
You're right and I've noticed that. I look up to a lot of the ModDB developers and I was saddened to see some of the ModDB veterans putting you down - I got to see their true colours on your ModDB page(s) actually. It's hard to separate the art from the artist when they spew such hurtful words toward other developers - and while I do enjoy their content I won't be able to look at those developers the same way. I think it's really important to treat others the way you would like others to treat you. It's a shame since they put out some great content too. Your character separates you from them so keep your head up! Stay positive and don't let them get to you man - they're not worth your time, your energy, or your effort. You took the high road and I noticed you handled their self-absorbed comments well. We may never meet or talk aside from this comment threat but know that I appreciate your work and I admire your character.

Does the standalone affect any previous installations of bf2? i would like to keep,um, "classic" BF2 with me as well. And does this use DX11?
you can add any classic map on the Remastered and it also has all the classic weapons dormant. I mean there is no reason to have both. but you can as long the HD stays on the right place, the other can go anywhere.
Though the game runs smooth as butter, I'm getting really strange black spots flickering along the textures of some maps. They're small and are most viewable from above.
never understood that shader_client problem, those are original from BF 1.5 and wor for most of the people, try to change terrain quality ingame and delete the folder inside documments\battlefield 2\mods\cache
