A tool for BML files in Alien Isolation allowing modding of behaviours, weapons and more!
Full instructions on how to use are included in the README file on download.
This includes a tool to convert the game's BML files to xml which allows you to modify them with any program like Notepad++. You can then re-convert the xml files back to BML with the same tool so that they will work in-game.
The tool was created by x1nixmzeng and modified by MattFiler to produce the four different versions.
UPDATE 27/07/16 - Added two variants of the BML tool, one which will stay open after conversion and one which will batch convert all BMLs or XMLs in a directory.
UPDATE 30/07/16 - Added a new converter variant to work with _DIRECTORY_CONTENTS.BML, along with updated instructions.
The BML converter won't open. When I try to open it, what looks like a command window flashes onscreen for a second and then nothing.
You don't open it in the normal way. To edit a BML file, you drag the BML file itself onto the converter tool. The command line box will briefly open then close and after you should see a new file with the same name but with the XML file extension instead. It also converts XML back to BML in the exact same process, drag the XML file to the converter, it'll create a new file called <FILE_NAME>_noconflict.xml (substitute <FILE_NAME> with the name of the actual file, e.g ALIEN_noconflict.XML) and rename it to what the original filename was in your game folder.
