Absolute HD 2023 v1.4 for Shadow of Chernobyl v1.0006.
Installation: Retail\Steam\GOG
Drop the Gamedata and bin_64 folders into the main Stalker directory
Install OpenAL if you haven't already (https://www.openal.org/downloads/)
Open fsgame.ltx and change the $game_data$ line to true | true if you haven't already
Ensure Visual C++ 2010 Redist 32 and 64 bit at minimum is installed
Launch the game with xrEngine.exe from the bin_64 folder*
*Steam versions of Stalker might require making an xrEngine shortcut and adding -steam to the target field.
Dropped the contents into the main directory, and installed OpenAL.
When launching the game with xrEngine.exe from bin_64, an error screen pops up over the [OGSR] Project loading screen
"FATAL ERROR"
Cannot find file gamedata\config\system.ltx.
Reinstalling application may fix this problem.
I did a fresh install before doing this, so maybe I missed something I'm new to modding SoC
Edit: Will try to install AHD 1.0.7 and see if that works
You haven't edited fsgame.ltx. Change the $game_data$ line to true | true ;o)
Managed to solve the problem and successfully play the game.
I saw some installations had the launcher in the root folder so I tried copying everything from the bin_x64 folder out into the root folder, and tried launching it there, and it ran without crashing.
Note I'm using the Steam version.
Absolutely great mod for a vanilla playthrough, can't wait for more development on your mods! :D
Ah that would be why you had issues. I've been modding Stalker a _very_ long time, as in, before retail SoC was released messing with all the leaked betas and such so my mods are made on the retail 1.0006 version of SoC not the Steam or GOG versions.
i have a couple of issues, the enemies are still bulletspongey even on master difficulty, maybe i did something wrong, also i don\t think i\m supposed to start with 90 million roubles. i followed all the steps listed here
You need the v1.41 patch, I managed to mix my scripts up somehow. I'm trying not to deviate from the vanilla experience which is why my changes to their bullet-spongeyness has been only moderate but if purists are fine with me going into more depth I can beef up the punch of early game weapons a bit.
When i launch the xrengine.exe file from bin_64 i get the following error

I'm assuming that the xrRender_R2.dll file is missing but when i check, it is with all the other files in bin_64 so I'm not sure what I should be looking for.
Any fix?
Are you using a retail, steam, or gog version of stalker? AFAIK the installation should be the same for all 3

I've done all those and when i launch the game without any mods it runs completely fine, it's only just when i use this mod it says a dll is mising which isn't
PM me a link with your crash log(s) so I can take a look. Something weird is going on there, definitely a conflict of some kind.
EDIT: I take it you are installing Absolute HD to a clean unmodded version of stalker?

Ensure visual c++ redistributable 2010 x64 is installed.

Got a new crash. Once I return the documents from X16 to Sakhrov it crashes.

Believe it or not, AHD I just consider an "easy" side project to SIN :p I still have some more things planned for AHD to round out the vanilla experience but it might take a little while to do some of the work is long and repetitive just due to how the game is built.
problem an error came when trying to launch the code execution cannot proceed because openAL32.dll was not found

Which files we need to download? Absolute HD 2023 v1.4 only? I know what to do with OpenAl, -steam and changing code line. But which version and which update I need to download? Which first? What overwrite?
Download AHD v1.4, along with the v1.45 update and the hotfix. Extract\install in that order. Optional texture packs only provide marginal improvements at best and are only really provided for placebo.
Am i need to dowload and install V1.0 before V1.4
